Climate Resilience Training for Water Sector Utilities in Northeast Illinois and Neighboring States
EPA’s Creating Resilient Water Utilities (CRWU) initiative and EPA Region 5 will be hosting a free in-person training on August 14, 2024 (8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. CT) at Dupage Water Commission (600 E Butterfield Rd, Elmhurst, IL 60126). This training is for drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities located in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. This training will cover topics such as regional climate trends and projections, the use of CRWU tools to build a climate risk assessment, the identification of adaptation strategies to mitigate climate threats, a utility case study from Milwaukee Water Works, water equity and environmental justice, and utility infrastructure financing.
