Workforce
The number of Hispanic workers in the labor force has grown from 10.7 million in 1990 to 29.0 million in 2020 today, and is projected to reach 35.9 million in 2030. Hispanics are projected to account for 78% of net new workers between 2020 and 2030. Latinos make up 18.4 percent of the US population and 17.3 percent of the US labor force, a share forecast to rise more than 30 percent by 2060.
4. There are reports of labor shortages across various industries. Our sister organization has a workforce development program that is currently recruiting workers for various sectors (aerospace, manufacturing, construction, education and healthcare). LCA and other workforce programs require sustainable funding to continue their operations. How do you plan to ensure that sustainable funding and focus is prioritize?

5. Youth violence has become a major public health crisis. What steps would you take to create effective solutions? It has been observed that larger organizations that are not brown or black-led often receive more funding, but their impact on the community they serve is limited. Would you support funding for culturally relevant wraparound services, and how would you go about achieving this?

2. Fentanyl fatal overdoes and addiction has escalated in Washington State. There is a delayed response and lack of local and state resources addressing this public health crisis.
