PROSPECTUS
"Landscapes: Real or Imagined" is a Juried art show to be held at Ardest Gallery in The Woodlands, Texas, just North of Houston between August 7th- September 7th. Submission Deadline: July 12th.
We are currently accepting all genres and styles that work within the noted show theme, and both 2D and 3D artworks.
The Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, August 10th from 5-8 p.m. with a Juror presentation at 7:00 p.m.
JUROR
Jenny Carattini-Wright, The Woodlands Arts Council's Executive Director, brings over 20 years of nonprofit sector experience.
She has significantly impacted local schools, national arts charities, public-private partnerships, religious groups, and business associations. Since 2013, Jenny has held the Certified Festival & Events Executive (CFEE) designation, and in 2015, she completed the Certified Nonprofit Executive program at Rice University's Leadership Institute for Nonprofit Executives. Under her leadership since 2011, The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival has become one of the nation's top fine arts festivals. The festival has allowed The Council to donate over $1.5 million to artists, students, and charitable causes since 2006. Jenny is actively engaged with the Texas Festivals & Events Association, serving as President/Chair. A resident of The Woodlands since 1994, she and her husband, Mitch, have raised three children.
Jenny is passionate about linking her community with exceptional art. Growing up with two adventurous New Yorkers, she changed schools eight times within twelve years. Her formative years in Greece, Italy, Istanbul, Spain, Iran, and Peru were rich in cultural experiences, with visits to museums and ancient sites almost every weekend. Experiencing extraordinary art has honed her discerning eye and deep appreciation for diverse art forms. Her love for people and events led her to The Woodlands Arts Council, where she utilizes her strong community spirit to foster art and culture through the arts festival and support of local artists.
HOW TO ENTER
Please read through all of the materials, including load-in and load-out dates to ensure that you can participate. Entries can only be submitted via JotForm.
Please LABEL all submissions as "Work Title.Artist Name.Medium.Size.Price."
Should your work(s) require additional details or notes, kindly note that in the "special requests" section offered in JotForm.
ELIGIBLE MEDIA
All works must have been completed between 2019-2024 and not previously exhibited at Ardest Gallery. Eligible media includes, but is not limited to, drawing, painting, photography, mixed media, oil, chalk, pastels, ink, ceramics, sculptures, metal work, wood work, and textiles. Max size for works is 48x60.

NUMBER OF ENTRIES & APPLICATION FEE
Each artist is limited to six (6) entries per submission. Mulitiple submissions are permitted. There is a $35 (USD) non-refundable/non-transferable fee for up to six (6) images. Payment must be submitted at the time of the application. The deadline to submit for this show is July 12th, 2024 at 11:59 PM CST.
ARTIST NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE
Accepted artists will be notified no later than July 19th via the email provided in the submission application.
LOAD-IN/LOAD-OUT DATES
Load-in for will be offered both Friday, August 2nd between 10-2 p.m. and Saturday, August 3rd between 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Ardest Gallery, located at 25200 Grogan's Park Drive, The Woodlands TX 77380.
Pre-arranged shipments of artwork WITH return labels are also accepted. BUT, the works must arrive during the gallery's open hours.
ALL accepted works delivered MUST be ready-to-hang or display AND include a printed inventory sheet with title/size/medium and price alongside a thumbnail of the work(s).
Load-out will be offered on Saturday, September 7th from 2-4 p.m. and Monday, September 9th from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
GALLERY SALES
Works will be exhibited and available for purchase by visitors to the gallery, and via an online gallery. All sales throughout the show's duration will be managed by the gallery, with a 40% commission retained by the gallery. Commission statements will be provided via email to artists that sell work along with payment via their preference of Zelle, Venmo or check.
AWARDS
Awards will be provided for one Best in Show, 1st Place & 2nd Place. Honorable mentions will also be noted.
PUBLICITY
The exhibition will be publicized locally via our social media platforms, digital media platforms and event listings, email newsletter and press releases submitted to local news outlets. Ardest Gallery reserves the right to use photographs and/or digital images for the purpose of publicity for the exhibit and/or the artist.
