Attendance and Financial Policy
Regular attendance and punctuality are important to safeguard the learning process and foster positive instructor-learner relationships. Therefore, instructors and learners are expected to attend all scheduled live lessons. Nevertheless, issues can sometimes arise that prevent an instructor or learner from attending a class or arriving on time. The following attendance/cancellation policy is intended to avoid misunderstandings and ensure that all instructors and learners are treated fairly. Please review it carefully.
Absences: If a learner is absent from a scheduled live lesson, he/she will still be charged for the session; however, a paid one-on-one makeup class can be requested. The instructor would still appreciate advance notice of absences when possible via email or through the LMS. Class recordings are available upon request for student viewing.
Cancellation: In case of unforeseen circumstances, an instructor can cancel a group class up to 24 hours prior to the start time. If an instructor asks to cancel within 24 hours of the start time, a free makeup class will be scheduled within 48 hours. Tardiness: If a learner arrives to class after the scheduled time, the session will still end at the assigned time and the instructor is not required to make up the missed time. If the learner is 15 or more minutes late, a paid one-on-one makeup class can be requested. If an instructor is late to class due to unforeseen circumstances, class time will be extended until the scheduled time is completed, up to 15 minutes.. If the instructor arrives later than 15 minutes to class, an additional class will be added to the class calendar.
CLAUSE: All classes within the Live Virtual Program are group classes. If a class does not receive at least 3 enrollments one week prior to the course start date, any registered students will be notified of the class cancellation. They will be offered their choice of a full refund of any payments made towards their class, or, on a case-by-case basis, the ability to switch into another class. Termination of Contract: Upon enrollment in a course with ReDefiners World Languages, the learner enters into an Enrollment Agreement with ReDefiners for the period defined in the enrollment plan with the understanding that the learner, administrative staff and instructors will work together to meet the learners' goals related to language acquisition. However, if the learner accumulates three absences without previous notice in one semester, the learner's enrollment agreement with ReDefiners World Languages for the defined period is automatically considered terminated and credit towards future group classes will be awarded. Exceptional circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
