Player Expectations
a) Be a team player. Always show respect for your teammates and coaches.
b) Be coachable and accept positive and negative feedback from the coaches.
c) Try to always have a positive attitude. Be encouraging while on the bench. Cheer loud! Often times Coaches be focused on the game but if you are cheering and supporting your teammates it helps bring energy to the team and may send a reminder out that you are present.
d) Understand playing time will not always be equal and is earned by hard work, performance, and attitude.
e) Work hard at every practice and bring energy to the game.

f) Be ON TIME to practices and tournaments and remain for the duration of all events. That includes working a game.
g) Communicate with your coaches ahead of time about absences, expected tardiness, concerns, or anything that will affect your team’s practice plans.
h) Always be on your best behavior. Inappropriate language and disrespect for others will not be tolerated.
i) Only positive and supportive comments should be made about the club, team, or other teams on social media sites.
j) Understand that club volleyball is a big commitment and make practices, tournaments, and team events a priority.
k) Always focus on effort, team, and attitude, not wins and losses. Celebrate every great play and brush off lost points.
l) At any time, you feel that a coach has come off mean and disrespectful.

- If actions do not change, Report it to Club Director
m) Please understand when a coach believes in you, they usually stay on you to help you improve mentally and physically in this sport. When they say nothing to you, that usually means the interest is not there. So don’t be worried if your name is called and you are critiqued daily. They are only trying to help you succeed.
n) Last but certainly not least, Have FUN and Enjoy the game.
Parent Expectations
a) Focus on supporting your child’s mastery of volleyball skills, strategy, and self-development. Competitive ranking focuses on winning and losing, which is outside of an individual athlete’s control.
b) Volleyball is a TEAM sport and allows your athlete to develop life-long values and self-respect.
c) Please try to stay positive throughout the season.
d) Please understand game days may be long days and hours. Keep your athlete hydrated with a healthy snack.
e) Show respect for other players, parents, opponents, officials, and the program.
f) Please do not speak negatively about your athlete and other athletes on the team during practice, games, events, etc. If you invite a family member to the game, the same rule applies. Please ask them to respect all athletes and do not to speak negatively about children competing under Hard Hitters or other organizations.
g) Refrain from yelling at the line judges. They are also children using their best judgement.
h) Please refrain from arguing or questioning an official. It is their job to use their best judgment when making a call.
i) As a coach, if we do not agree, we will handle the situation appropriately. You are representing your daughter and our club at these events, and we will not tolerate any kind of disrespect.
j) When you decide to join the Hard Hitters Family, you trust that we have provided you with a coach that has your daughter’s best interest in mind.
k) In most cases, people judge off perception. How it may look. Please address any issues you may have within 24 hours after the game. It could be something totally different than what you perceive it to be.
l) Under NO circumstances shall a parent approach a coach during competition or when other players or parents are present. The parent, player, and coach will often resolve the conflict and learn from the experience.
m) Parents are invited to participate in officiating/score keeping clinics and assist with team activities.
n) Volunteer Moms are accepted- Team moms will help with group travel arrangements (booking group flights, van rentals), team dinners, team shirts, any extra-curricular activity as a team, and may help coach with team correspondence.
o) Please assure your player arrives/picked up on time for practice and tournaments. If there is an emergency, please contact your coach and the Manager, and/or Director.
