Tramore Tennis Club – Code of Behaviour for All Members
Tramore Tennis Club (TTC) is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, inclusive and enjoyable environment for everyone. By becoming a member, you agree to uphold the highest standards of behaviour in line with Tennis Ireland’s national safeguarding and conduct requirements.
1. Respect & Fair Play
All members must:
Treat players, coaches, volunteers, staff, visitors, officials and opponents with dignity, fairness and respect.
Promote fair play, integrity and sportsmanship in all club activities.
Respect court etiquette, bookings, match schedules, coaching sessions, and club facilities.
2. Safe & Positive Environment
Members must:
Contribute to an atmosphere that is friendly, welcoming, and safe for adults and children.
Avoid any behaviour that may cause upset, intimidation, hostility, or embarrassment to others.
Support the club’s safeguarding practices, including the role of the Children’s Officer and Designated Liaison Person, who promote safe participation.
3. Zero Tolerance for Bullying, Harassment or Abuse
The club will not tolerate:
Bullying, threats, harassment, discrimination, spreading rumours, or any form of abusive behaviour—whether in person or online.
Behaviour that undermines the wellbeing or confidence of other members.
4. Behaviour on the Court
Members agree to:
Use appropriate language and avoid shouting angrily, swearing, racquet abuse, or aggressive behaviour.
Accept the decisions of club organisers, captains, coaches, and officials during matches and events.
Play within the rules of tennis and promote fair competition.
5. Alcohol, Drugs & Substances
Members must not attend club activities under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Members must not encourage or provide banned substances to any person.

6. Use of Club Facilities & Equipment
Members must:
Treat club property, courts, equipment and amenities with care.
Report hazards, damage or safety concerns promptly.
Respect booking rules, access restrictions, and operational guidelines set by management.
7. Digital, Online & Communication Conduct
Members agree to:
Communicate respectfully in WhatsApp groups, club chats, email lists, and social media.
Avoid posting content that is offensive, discriminatory, or damaging to the club’s reputation.
Respect privacy and comply with the club’s policy on photography and videography of children.
8. Interactions with Children & Young People
All adult members share responsibility for creating a child‑safe environment (as per Tennis Ireland safeguarding guidance).
Members must:
Behave appropriately around young players at all times.
Report any safeguarding concerns immediately to the Club Children’s Officer or Designated Liaison Person.
Avoid one‑to‑one situations with juniors where possible unless operating in an open and observable environment.
9. Compliance, Accountability & Disciplinary Actions
Breaches of this Code may result in:
Verbal/written warnings
Suspension of membership
Removal from the club
Reporting to Tennis Ireland or statutory services, where required

I, the undersigned, confirm that I have read, understand and agree to abide by the Tramore Tennis Club Code of Behaviour for All Members. I understand that failure to uphold this Code may result in disciplinary actions as outlined above.
