Yass Landcare Group is offering 1-50 trees and guards per property to re-establish paddock trees in the Yass Valley Local Government Area.

This project will improve health and connectivity in the landscape by planting the next generation of native trees. Scattered paddock trees (30m apart) are an important part of the landscape and play a number of roles on a healthy and productive farm.

Eligibility Criteria

Below is the Eligibility Criteria for this project. Please tick if you agree/ comply with each.

I am a current financial member of a Yass Area Network Landcare Group, or I am willing to join
The project site is in the Yass Valley Local Government Area
I agree to maintain 100% tree survival over 10 years and will replace any dead trees if necessary
I agree to plant the trees at least 30 metres apart, and a safe distance from houses and power lines
I agree to co-invest $25 per sheep-proof guard and $30 per cattle/horse-proof guard, and provide three steel posts per guard

What happens next?
Once your Expression of Interest Form has been received and processed, we will contact applicants, if needed, to request further information about the planting site/sites. Successful applicants will be asked to provide the co-investment and be given the details of the Tree Guard Team Up - a community working bee where volunteers build and distribute the tree guards together.
