MAREEBA RODEO 'S FESTIVAL QUEEN COMPETITION TERMS & CONDITIONS
Entrants:
1. Entrants must reside permanently in the Mareeba Shire at the time of competition. Proof of residency will be required.
2. Entrants must be females who will be 16 to 21 years of age by judging day. Proof of age will be required.
3. It is compulsory to attend all mandatory functions (refer to program of events). They will begin 3 weeks prior to the Rodeo and be mainly evening and weekend events. If, for some reason, it is impossible to attend a function you must notify one of the matrons at least 24 hours prior to the function.
4. Entrants are to be at the Bull Bar, Kerribee Park at 3pm on Sunday, 22nd June 2025 to receive their hats, boots and schedule for the competition. Entrants must be available to attend all functions from this date, to the conclusion of the Rodeo.
5. A cowgirl style outfit will be required for some functions and is compulsory. The Entrant must wear a skirt – no jeans, pants, slacks etc. The Cowgirl Outfit can be bought, home-made or made by a dress-maker. See the Matrons for suggestions.
6. A country style outfit will be required for some functions and is compulsory. The Entrant must wear country style jeans (no rips/holes) and a country style shirt. Belt is optional.
7. Boots, Hat, Gloves, Sash, Badge & Number will be provided at no cost. Boots must be returned.
8. For the Rodeo Ball your Formal Dress must be suitable Evening Wear – dress length can be from (below) knee to the floor, gloves are not necessary.
9. Dress will be indicated for other occasions.
10. No partners will be required for the Rodeo Ball for the presentations or photos. Entrants will walk in for the presentations by themselves. Partners are welcome to attend the Ball as a paid guest.
11. Program of events – Entrants must attend all functions & be punctual. Finish times are approximate & are subject to change.
12. To be able to enter into the ‘Queensland Country Life Showgirl’ competition, entrants must satisfy QCAS rules; they being: unmarried, childless and aged between 18 and 28 up until the final judging in Brisbane.
13. Only entrants fully vaccinated against COVID 19 will be able to participate in the Garden Settlement Excursion. This is in line with the Qld Govt - Public Health & Social Measures Plan.
14. Entrants or (Parent/Guardian if under 18 yrs) must sign a ‘Talent Release Form’ to enable the Mareeba Rodeo to have photos/footage taken at various functions throughout the competition.
15. The Committee reserves the right to limit the number of nominations if necessary.
16. The judges' decisions are final and binding, with no further correspondence.
Sponsors:
1. Other than the entry fee the amount of support (money or other) provided by a sponsor to their entrant, is at the discretion of the sponsor. There is a limit of one sponsor per entrant.
2. It is a requirement that the sponsor or a representative attend the Rodeo Ball on Saturday 5th July to present entrant with sash. No speech is required, however a photo will be taken and used for Rodeo Festival feature in The Express Newspaper.
3. Sponsors must supply an advertorial announcement about their business to be read out at the Ball (30 words maximum) to Mareeba Rodeo Association by Monday, 23rd June 2025 via email to info@mareebarodeo.com.au.
