Who can take part?
The Makers Hub will be a pop up space for small-businesses at the festival where local brands, artists and designer-makers can showcase and sell their wares, with a particular focus on ethical and sustainable products, brands and makers. This year, any artists wanting to exhibit on site, must apply with this form and will be showcased as part of this Makers Hub with all the same terms as small businesses.
As this is an event to celebrate the talents of the people of Peckham, priority will be given to local traders living, working or originating from across SE15 and to the neighbouring postcodes of SE1, SE4, SE5, SE14, SE16, SE22 and SE23 and finally to other neighbouring postcodes within London.
We are not accepting any hot food applications. Applications for hot food traders will open in the coming months, keep an eye out on the Peckham Festival website as these will be going live soon!
If you are a charity or local community group wishing to promote your services to local people with a stall please get in touch via oi@peckhamfestival.org.
Insurance and safety
Artists/Makers are responsible for insuring their work and products. Check that your existing policy provides adequate cover before registering to take part. Peckham Festival does NOT provide insurance of any kind. Public liability insurance is essential and you MUST ensure that you have this in place.
The Artists' information company www.a-n.co.uk has information regarding public liability insurance.
Marketing
We produce a flyer advertising Peckham Festival which includes the Makers Hub, which will be available publicly.
In previous years we have produced a full catalogue brochure, however in keeping with our sustainability targets this year we will transition to a smaller flyer. Due to size restrictions it will not be possible to include individual entries for all artists.
Each individual Makers Hub participant will, however, be listed with their image and description on the Peckham Festival website at peckhamfestival.org and will also be promoted across our social media platforms (within a small collective).
There will also be posters distributed before the Festival.
We promote the event through the Peckham Festival website and on our Social Media channels. Peckham Festival also publicises the event in local papers and magazines and on digital media.
Your entry
The image you select is the most important part of your entry so please ensure that you are happy with the quality you supply. Please submit your image using this form. The image file name must contain the artist's name and year of participation in this format:
ArtistsName_2024.jpg
If supplying multiple images please add _01, _02 etc at the end of each file name.
The preferred file format is a high resolution 300dpi JPEG.
We ask for both a short and long description for your profile on the Peckham Festival website.
Peckham Festival Makers Hub Registration
An entry form (next page) must be completed and a high resolution image provided for each entry by the closing date. Payment will be requested from successful applicants once the selection process is complete towards the end of July.
By registering to take part you are agreeing to the above terms and those outlined in the Information Pack.
Your Peckham Festival Makers Hub Experience
We hope that you will find Peckham Festival Makers Hub a rewarding experience both personally and commercially. It is an excellent opportunity to meet the public, make contacts, receive feedback and sell your work. However, it is an undertaking which takes thought and preparation.
Whilst the festival typically welcomes between 15,000 - 20,000 visitors across the period to the activities at Copeland Park, visitor numbers can vary widely throughout the day and at each venue. The success of your Peckham Festival Makers Hub cannot be guaranteed but the number of visitors you have will be influenced by how much of your own publicity you do.
