ATTENTION: This form is NOT to be completed by a parent. This form is only to be completed by a teacher, school staff or social worker.

Dear Teacher/School Official: The On Your Mark Academic Support Program, now entering its 25th year offering support, is an after-school and weekend Tutoring and Academic Support program offered to students of Portuguese speaking descent and students of Spanish speaking descent in grades 1 to 12.

On Your Mark is a one-on-one Academic Support program to help students that are having significant difficulties in one or more subjects. The program is  offered ONLINE for students to receive tutoring help once a week.  The registration requires a referral in order to enroll the student as well as to determine the student’s area(s) of significant difficulty and what areas the tutor should focus on when working with the student.

The aim of the program is to help students achieve a sense of positivity and academic success. Our program operates with volunteer tutors who do not necessarily have specializations in a broad range of special needs teaching. 

If the student has any special needs due to Autism, ADHD or other needs that constitute behavioural or learning difficulties we may not be able to accommodate them in this program. We appreciate your understanding as it is key in ensuring that it has resources to help those students it can, as well as provide a positive experience for its volunteer tutors.

The Academic Support program runs from the end of October 2024 until the end of May 2025. Students start as soon as they can be matched with a volunteer tutor. Sessions are 1 to 2 hours a week After School or Saturday mornings ONLINE.
