Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are pleased to inform you that your young person has attended an introduction to the VisionWorks™ Program and submitted an application that has been selected for participation this term at their school.

Here is some brief information you may need to know;

What is the VisionWorks™ Program?

A personalised and innovative program that runs over a term and engages students in conversations around what they want their future to look like and how they can work through their personal barriers to achieve it.

Who is behind the VisionWorks™ Program?

The VisionWorks™ Program is powered by Insain - a youth support agency committed to empowering young people to discover their unique vision for the future and provides them with the resources and support they need to achieve it with VisionWorks™

What will my young person be doing?

During the term they'll be working alongside 25 - 30 other amazing young people, taking part in activities that will help them develop new skills and broaden their horizons. Each session runs once a week for 2-3 hours and starts with our Vision Session involving the creation of their vision.

Please Note - attendance at this session - the very first session of the program once your young person has been accepted -

IS COMPULSORY

If missed, your young person can not continue the program

We may also link your young person to a community member who may mentor them in their goals, and potentially go outside the classroom to do field work or meet with community members, etc. We call this an "Engagement" or a "Vision Interaction".

How can I support?

You may find asking your young person about their experiences in the program helpful in understanding what we are asking our young people to do, and to assist in supporting them during the program. You can encourage your young person to think about their future, though still allowing them space in discovering it for themselves.

Before your young person can participate you will need to sign the Parent Permission. Please see below

If a young person needs to contact us during the holidays or out of hours once the program starts the best method is email, though response time may be delayed. We will make every effort to respond in 48 hours.

Communication

We will use a number of different methods to communicate with your young person;

Email via the account details provided on their application form
Text message from monitored work devices to the number provided on their application form. Any messaging will be guided to occur only during the hours of 7.30am - 5.30pm.
Occasionally, young people may reach out over Instagram or via text message. In this instance we will respond during the same hours listed above

Communication is generally for the duration of the sessions and can continue post program for follow up and further mentoring or support. If you do not wish communication to continue once the sessions have been completed for your young person please contact us to opt out.
