LTI Exam - Request for Testing

NOTE: There are two Oregon-approved Language Proficiency Exams.

OHA-Approved Language Proficiency Tests
1. Language Line University: 

Level 3+ or above (Interagency Language Roundtable [ILR]) equivalent

2. Language Testing International (LTI) – Testing is based on American Council of the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) assessment. 

Advanced mid-level or above. Both the optional phone interpreter (OPI – telephonic) and OPIc (computer recording) are accepted by Oregon.

I strongly recommend to compare the cost and format between the two language exams. Please visit their website directly as they can change their fees and requirements at any time.

NOTE: If you would like to take the LTI ACTFL exam, check with Marlene about the availability of a discounted fee $99.50 to take the LTI Exam. You may qualify for a discounted fee if you sign up through Culture Advantage. You must do this at least 2 weeks in advance of taking the exam. Be aware that if you take the exam through Culture Advantage, it may take at least 7 days to process and to get the results. It may be quicker to sign up with the above companies directly if you have a deadline for receiving the results.

You are signing up for the Language Testing International (LTI) Language Proficiency Exam. You can go to the LTI website and sign up with them directly without the Culture Advantage discount. They may add $35.00 for remote proctoring.

The two format accepted by Oregon are: ACTFL OPI and ACTFL OPIC for Speaking Proficiency. (Do not take the exam for Writing Proficiency!)

Culture Advantage has been given a discounted fee for the LTI Exam as a discount to our students/graduates. The exam is administered by LTI, not by Culture Advantage.

Discounted fee of $99.50 for OPIC Internet Speaking Test with Remote Proctor (Oral Proficiency Interview by Computer (OPIc). This discounted fee is only available by signing up through the Culture Advantage website, this page.

LTI may charge additional fees other testing options which will need to be paid through Culture Advantage. The discounted fee is only for this specific test taken by computer: OPIC Internet Speaking Test by Computer with Remote Proctor.

You will receive all of the information from LTI when you are registered to take the test. I am only providing these here for information before you sign up for the test.

To qualify as an interpreter for the state of Oregon, you must pass at Advanced Mid-level or above.

NOTE: It has been reported by other examinees that you should not use Google Chrome browser and not use Chrome notebook, or Ipad. You must only use a laptop or desktop computer.
