Graduate Assistant for Wellness and Community

2026 Spring Semester Only
The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) seeks a Graduate Assistant for Wellness and Community. This graduate student position will be essential in spearheading GSAS events, programs, and initiatives related to holistic wellness and community engagement in GSAS and the greater Fordham community.
This position will enhance the scholar-practitioner experience of a graduate student to further aid in professional development. The graduate student of Wellness and Community will have the opportunity to engage in dynamic collaboration with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community.
Position Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Assistant Dean of Student Professional Development and faculty in GSAS on wellness, community, and events.
- Work with the GSAS Student Professional Development and Communication teams about session logistics, tasks, and communication to ensure successful delivery and implementation of content.
- In partnership with the office of the Assistant Dean for Student Professional Development, plan holistic wellness events such as the Wellness Wednesday, Spring Wellness Week, and so on.
- Maintain a database with campus and community partners, including but not limited to Counseling and Psychological Services, The Center for Community Engaged Learning, Multicultural Affairs, The Office of Ignatian Mission, and Campus Ministry.
- Commit to 18 hours per week with some evening and weekend responsibilities. This position is hybrid. (Some in-person work will be required.)
- Manage GSAS Wellness email account and calendar.
- Manage the logistics and execution of three to four events each month.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled students in the GSAS
- Excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills
- Detailed-oriented and proactive, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Experience in event planning, student engagement, and skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to outreach to new campus and community partners
- Confidentiality and discretion
