    Overview

    Ohio Farm Bureau is recruiting three social media ambassadors to provide an inside look at the 2026 Young Ag Professionals Winter Leadership Experience set to be held January 23-24 at Cherry Valley in Newark, OH. This opportunity gives collegiate students hands-on experience providing media coverage for a conference, while also curating a strong social media presence for their unique audiences. 

    The 2026 Winter Leadership Conference Social Media Ambassador Team is generously made possible by Farm Credit Mid-America.

    Eligibility

    Any student currently enrolled in an Ohio college or university is eligible to apply. 

    Compensation

    In addition to training and experience gained, each ambassador will receive:

    • $500 cash stipend & mileage reimbursement
    • Complementary Winter Leadership Experience registration & hotel accommodations
    • Two branded apparel items

    Time Commitment 

    Ambassador responsibilities begin in November 2025 and will conclude by the end of February 2026. Dates and times listed below are tentative and subject to change.

    • November 13: Orientation & training (virtual)
    • December - February: Post promotional content (on your own time)
    • December 11, 2025: Hands-on training (Columbus, OH)
    • January 15, 2026: Conference agenda walkthrough (virtual)
    • January 23-24, 2026: Winter Leadership Experience (Sandusky, OH)
    • February 12, 2026: Post-Conference Meeting (virtual)

    Responsibilities

    The three social media ambassadors will be led by a senior social media ambassador and work in collaboration with Ohio Farm Bureau’s social media specialist. Social media ambassador responsibilities include:

    • Attend virtual and in-person orientation and trainings as outlined in the time commitment section.
    • Develop and execute a social media plan throughout the Ohio Farm Bureau YAP Winter Leadership Experience, utilizing (but not limited to) Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn posting on individual accounts.
      • Each ambassador will be responsible for creating three posts per platform leading up to the conference. The posts should be unique, representing different types of content. (i.e. a Blog/Testimonial", a "Reel/TikTok" and a "Gif/Meme" post)
    • Organize live Story content for competitions, key events, and entertainment.
    • Collaborate with other ambassadors and Ohio Farm Bureau social media specialist to curate cohesive content for Ohio Farm Bureau branded social media pages. 
    • Collaborate with the Farm Credit Mid-America marketing team to provide specified content related to the conference for their platforms.
    • Create a custom post thanking the social media ambassador team sponsor Farm Credit Mid-America.
    • Participate in a virtual post-conference debrief meeting.

    • Brief video introduction: Film a no more than 60 second video introducing yourself and articulating why you are the best candidate to be a social media ambassador for the 2026 Winter Leadership Experience. Use short form video format (vertical orientation) and be prepared to either upload a MOV or MP4 file or provide a sharable video link.
    • Portfolio: Compile a portfolio that articulates your relevant experience and showcases examples of your work. Be prepared to either upload a pdf, doc, or docx file or provide a sharable link.

    Knowing ahead of time what equipment you may have access to allows the Ohio Farm Bureau Communications Team to plan accordingly to ensure social media ambassadors are properly equipped for their duties.

    Supplying your own equipment is NOT an expectation of social media ambassadors. Your access to equipment will not be considered during the selection process.
