Foster Care Agreement

This agreement is entered into between Milo’s Animal Rescue Team (“Rescue”) and the undersigned foster caregiver (“Foster”).

The Foster agrees to provide temporary care for the dog listed below for a period of time or until the dog is officially adopted through Milo’s Animal Rescue Team.

The Foster understands and agrees to the following:

The dog remains the sole property of Milo’s Animal Rescue Team at all times.

Under no circumstances does fostering constitute ownership or transfer of ownership.

The Foster has no legal claim to the dog at any time.

The dog may not be given away, sold, or rehomed by the Foster.

Any adoption must be approved and processed directly through Milo’s Animal Rescue Team.

The Rescue reserves the right to reclaim the dog at any time, for any reason, in the best interest of the animal.

The Foster agrees to provide proper care, including food, shelter, safety, and humane treatment at all times while the dog is in their care.

By signing below, the Foster acknowledges that they understand and agree to all terms listed above and that the dog remains the property of Milo’s Animal Rescue Team.

The Foster agrees to provide proper care, including food, water, shelter, supervision, and humane treatment at all times.

Photo & Update Requirement

The Foster agrees to:

Provide regular updates on the dog’s well-being.

Send photos and/or videos of the dog upon request and periodically for adoption promotion purposes.

Trial-to-Adopt Clause

If the Foster is interested in adopting the dog, the following terms apply:

The Foster may participate in a trial-to-adopt period lasting __________ days.

During this time, the dog remains the property of Milo’s Animal Rescue Team.

The Rescue must approve the adoption application before finalizing adoption.

An adoption fee of $__________ must be paid before ownership is transferred.

If the Foster decides not to adopt, the dog must be returned to the Rescue immediately upon request.

If the Rescue determines the placement is not a good fit, the dog must be returned immediately.

I understand that applying does not ensure approval and that untruthful answers or failure to comply with the requirements of this application can result in the forfeiture fostered by andrea. I certify that the information is correct, and I understand that the information will be verified. I understand that by submitting this form electronically, I agree to release and covenant to hold harmless Andrea and any other members from any claims, damages, costs, or actions incurred because of the care or actions of the foster dog. I accept full responsibility for the dog(s) actions at all times, and release Andrea from any liabilities or damages that may be incurred because of fostering such dog(s). I agree to have Andrea complete reference call checks and conduct a home visit inspection to be able to approve my foster application. I agree that if I'm unable to foster the dog(s) anymore that I will return the dog(s) to Andrea and try to give Andrea 3-4 week period to try and find another suitable foster for the dog(s).

**Important Notice for Foster Families**If you are fostering a dog and can no longer continue fostering for any reason, you must notify Milo’s Animal Rescue Team as soon as possible and provide at least **14 days’ notice whenever possible**.Because Milo’s Animal Rescue Team is a foster-based rescue, we do not have a facility where we can simply place dogs when a foster situation ends. Our dogs depend on their foster families for a safe place to stay while we work to find another suitable foster home.**Fosters must allow the rescue reasonable time to find a new placement before the dog can be moved or the foster arrangement ends.** Giving notice does not mean the dog can be immediately returned or dropped off. You must communicate and cooperate with the rescue while we work to secure a safe alternative placement.We will do our very best to find another foster as quickly as possible, but finding the right home takes time. We ask for your patience and understanding while we coordinate the dog’s next placement. Please do not arrange to surrender, relocate, or transfer the dog to anyone else without the rescue’s approval.If an emergency arises and you can no longer safely care for the dog, contact the rescue immediately so we can work together on an appropriate plan.Fostering is a commitment to the dog’s safety and well-being. By agreeing to foster, you understand that Milo’s Animal Rescue Team is foster-based and that **you must work with the rescue and allow time for a new placement to be secured before ending the foster arrangement, except when an immediate safety emergency requires urgent action.**Thank you for opening your heart and home to a rescue dog. Your patience, communication, and cooperation help us protect the dogs who depend on us. ❤️🐾Veterinary Care and Medical Authorization PolicyAs a foster for Milo’s Animal Rescue Team, I understand and agree to the following requirements:1. Required Veterinary Visits: All foster dogs must be taken to veterinary appointments as directed by Milo’s Animal Rescue Team. I agree to cooperate with scheduling and transporting the foster dog to required appointments.2. Rescue-Approved Veterinarian: Milo’s Animal Rescue Team will select the veterinarian or veterinary clinic responsible for the foster dog’s care. Foster parents may not independently choose or switch veterinarians without prior approval from the rescue.3. Approval for All Veterinary Care: All veterinary appointments, examinations, treatments, medications, procedures, vaccinations, and other medical services must be approved in advance by Milo’s Animal Rescue Team.4. Emergency and Urgent Care: If the foster dog experiences a medical emergency or requires urgent attention, I will immediately contact Milo’s Animal Rescue Team for instructions and authorization. I will not delay seeking guidance when the dog’s health or life may be at risk. If the rescue cannot be reached and immediate emergency care is necessary, I will seek appropriate emergency veterinary assistance and notify the rescue as soon as possible.5. Unauthorized Expenses: I understand that veterinary expenses or treatments obtained without the rescue’s approval may not be reimbursed by Milo’s Animal Rescue Team.6. Rescue Ownership and Decision-Making: I understand that all foster dogs remain the property of Milo’s Animal Rescue Team until officially adopted.
