Athlete Registration

Do I need to be Ismaili to play in the tournament?
- Yes, this tournament is for Ismaili Muslims and spouses of Ismaili Muslims.
What does my registration fee cover?
- Your registration fee will cover:
  - Transportation to and from Bush International Airport to the hotel via Double Tree Hotel at Bush Airport shuttle
  - Transportation from the hotel to the gym, event venues, and Jamat Khane
  - Hotel stay from Thursday, July 25th to Sunday, July 28th
  - All meals (12) and snacks
  - Jersey
  - Swag pack
  - Friday and Saturday night events!
When is the registration deadline?
- Registration will close on May 26th at 5 p.m. CST. There will be no exceptions.
Where do I pay my registration fee?
- All athletes must pay their registration fee on the registration form. Please ask your captain to contact the organizing team if you have any issues.
Do I have to stay at the hotel?
- All athletes traveling into Houston MUST stay at the hotel. The hotel is included in your registration fee. Please refer to our registration sheet for pricing.
Do Houston athletes need to stay at the hotel?
- While we encourage athletes from Houston to stay at the Double Tree Hotel at Bush Airport, it is not required.
Which meals will be included?
- All meals and snacks will be included for athletes starting Thursday night until Sunday evening when games end. We’re excited to provide a great taste of Houston and Texas with local breakfast, lunch, and dinner options!
How many games are guaranteed?
- All teams will play 4 regular season games and playoffs. The playoffs will be single elimination.
How many players can register per team?
- There will be a minimum of 8 players and a maximum of 15 per team for all age divisions.
Will I receive jerseys?
- Yes! Every athlete will receive a jersey and they MUST wear the provided jersey to play in games.
What time will the games start?
- Games will start at 8 a.m. CST every day and end by 5 p.m. CST. Teams will play two games on Friday, and two games on Saturday, and playoffs will begin Sunday. The schedule is subject to change.
Where will games be played?
- All games will be played at the MI3 Center.
Transportation

When do I need to arrive in Houston and when should I book flights out?
- All athletes must be in Houston by Thursday, July 25th to check in at the Double Tree Hotel at Bush Airport. Registration opens at 7 p.m. and all athletes must attend our welcome meeting at 8 p.m.
- All games will finish on Sunday by 5 p.m. If you need to stay another night, you may book an extra night at your own expense at Double Tree at Bush Airport. We are working on a discounted rate and will provide that later.
What transportation will be provided?
- We will provide all transportation to and from Bush International Airport (via hotel shuttle), to and from the hotel to the gym, and to and from the hotel to Unity Community Center for our Friday and Saturday night events as well.
Will you provide transportation from Hobby Airport?
- Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide transportation from Hobby Airport to the Double Tree Hotel at Bush Airport.
Will transportation be provided to Jamat Khane?
- Yes, we will provide transportation from the hotel to Spring Jamat Khane on Friday and Saturday nights. Our night events are located across the street from Jamat Khane at the Unity Community Center.
Non-Athlete Registration: Spectators, Coaches, & Chaperone

Do athletes need chaperones?
- Athletes 16 years old and under will need chaperones. You will need 1 chaperone to 3 athletes. If the athletes are staying at the hotel, chaperones must stay with them as well. Please refer to our pricing sheet for chaperone pricing. Chaperones must be 21 years old or over.
Do Coaches need to register?
- All coaches who will be on the sidelines must register as spectators so they can receive all meals, transportation, hotel stays, and access to all events.
Can spectators attend events and eat meals at the gym?
- Yes! Spectators can buy a spectator package and get full access to meals, and events. We also have hotels available for spectators who are flying into Houston.
Can I purchase tickets to the night events for Friday and Saturday if I’m not an athlete, chaperone, or spectator?
- Yes! Anybody who wants to attend our night events can purchase tickets on Thursday night at the hotel. The ticket includes access to the event, entertainment, and dinner.
Please note AKYSB National Tournament fee for 2023 without a hotel was $395.
