Qualifying Event for the ANKC Working Team / Lead Dog Titles

Compulsory Drivers Meeting: 5.00pm Saturday 23rd May. This meeting is compulsory.

Racing Commences: 6.00pm Saturday 23rd May*

*Subject to weather. Race commencement times will be confirmed at Drivers Meeting.

Awards: 1st to 3rd in Class

This event is conducted in accordance with the Dogs Australia Sled Sports Rules (updated 2025). Rules can be downloaded from the website

Eligibility: Restricted to dogs 12 months of age and over. See Appendix A to Sled Racing in the ANKC Sled Sports Rules for breed specific eligibility.

All drivers must be members of an ANKC body.

If this is the drivers first race, they must be entered in the 1-dog class. If you have not raced with the club before, proof of race history may be required if entered in any other class.

Weather Policy: Weather policy is in accordance with the ANKC Sled Sport Rules.

Camping: Camping is available at the race site. There is also camping available at Dalys Clearing camp site within Belanglo State Forest. However, it is not close to the race site. More information is available here.

Location: Firebreak Road, Belanglo State Forest, NSW. Maps and directions will be emailed to entrants prior to the event.

There are no facilites at the race/camping area. SHCNSW will provide portaloo's at the race site.

Please ensure you bring enough water for you and your dogs.

Our continued use of NSW State Forests for events is contingent on us leaving the areas we use clean and tidy. Please ensure you clean up after your dogs, and take all rubbish with you.

4.00pm to 5.00pm Drivers Check In & Bib Collection

5.00pm Compulsory Drivers Meeting

6.00pm Racing Commences with 1 Dog Class*

Followed by 2 & 3 Dog Classes

Followed by 4 & 6 Dog Classes

*The start time may change due to weather conditions.

There will be a 15 minute interval between classes.

Lights will be required for all classes. Please ensure you have appropriate lights.

Course length will be dependent on weather & track conditions.

Minimum Distances are as follows:

1 Dog: 1.6km

2 & 3 Dog: 3.2km

4 & 6 Dog: 4.8km

I agree as a condition of my entry in The Siberian Husky Club of NSW ANKC Sledding Event 2026 for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators to waive all and any claim, right or cause of action which I or they might otherwise have arising, of any loss of life or injury, damage or loss whatsoever which I may sustain in or as a consequence of my entry or participation in the said event. Further, I agree to enter under the rules governing the event and shall abide by any official decision made at the event. I agree to be responsible for my conduct and that of my helpers and dogs. I understand that sled dog sports may be dangerous, and acknowledge that I enter the said event AT MY OWN RISK.
