National Philanthropy Day (NPD) is celebrated each year during the month of November to pay tribute to those who give of their time, talent and financial support to enhance and improve the quality of life in our local communities and beyond. The AFP Bluegrass Chapter would like to invite your organization to participate in this year's NPD celebration by nominating a deserving high school or middle school age student and/or a high school or middle school age club/organization for the 2024 Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy Award (YIP). The purpose of the YIP Award is to recognize high school and/or middle school students who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the community through raising direct financial support for a project/program, development of charitable programs, volunteering, and/or leadership in service and philanthropy. Past nominees have represented a variety of groups including high school clubs, Girl Scouts, church youth groups, and individual high school students. The AFP Bluegrass Chapter NPD Event Committee will select the 2024 YIP award recipient.
The Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy Award recipient will be honored during the 2024 National Philanthropy Day celebration to be held in Lexington on Thursday, November 7, at the Embassy Suites on Newtown Pike from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm. The award recipient and up to two representatives from the award recipient club/organization plus a teacher or sponsor will be invited as guests of the AFP Bluegrass Chapter who is the host organization for NPD. They will sit at a special sponsored table Others may also attend the event by purchasing individual tickets. The YIP recipient (individual or club/organization) may also be eligible to receive assistance from the AFP Bluegrass Chapter to help advance or sustain their philanthropic project/program.
To participate, please complete the attached nomination form. Nominations must be received by September 15, 2024.In addition, at least one letter of recommendation from a relevant teacher, organization advisor, principal or community leader must be included.
