  • Exotic Peacock
18 inches, Open, $140. Base is a one-piece slip-on leotard. Skirting is designed in layers. First layer of skirting is an iridescent tissue organza fabric that, when in the light, can bring on a few different colors that blend with the peacock appliques and feathers. Second layer of skirting has cut-out pieces from three peacock appliques, which are set and hand-stitched over the first layer of skirting. Pieces are adorned with sequins to give just the right amount of sparkle. Third layer is 24 real peacock feathers scattered all the way around the skirting, along with little rhinestone buttons. Set comes with a matching clip-in headpiece with peacock feathers that hang down on one side. Model: 18-inch Luli from The Trinket Box BJD.

  • Iridescence
18 inches, OOAK, $150. Designed over a one-piece stretch leotard in white with peach flowers. Skirting is hand-stitched in layers, with white chiffon flowers for the base of the overlay of sequined and beaded flowers and other pieces hand-cut from the appliques. Artist used four large appliques in total to make the outer skirting, along with iridescent hanging leaves. The main colors in this set are white and a peachy pink. Headpiece that matches was made using wires that have attached chiffon butterflies, beads, pearls, pieces taken from the appliques used in overlay skirting, and a few faux flowers and leaves. Artist also made little armlets out of the fabric with the hanging iridescent leaves. Model: 18-inch Kimmie from The Trinket Box BJD.

  • Wild Things
16 inches, OOAK, $900. Vintage Thai silk with tiny black crystal beading. Cotton petticoat underneath (not visible). Vintage black lace cap with handmade matching flowers. Black crystal necklace with matching earrings with gold-plated findings. Faux fur stole (which has been vigorously dragged around the house by the artist’s Siamese cat). All clothing and jewelry designed and made by the artist. Dress is inspired by the costumes from the movie Poor Things and is based on evening dresses from 1900. Artist said a notable feature of the costumes for Poor Things is that they look historical but are very different from actual historical clothing. The vibrant vintage Thai silk is from the early 1970s, but the dress style is more or less from around 1900. Many sci fi and other odd movies use this costuming technique, which is both familiar and unsettling. Shoes (not visible) by Integrity Toys. Model: 16-inch Integrity Toys Elsa Lin, “Fall Phenomenon” from 2015.
