MEAA SOMA: Cultural Change in Our Orchestras
SOMA, the union for Australian orchestral musicians, has been discussing and responding to the issues of orchestral culture raised by the recent reporting on the New York Philharmonic, and equally the issues of gendered violence and misogyny in Australia.

Australian orchestral musicians stand in solidarity with survivors of sexual assault and gendered violence.

We have drafted a statement that states our values but also sets us up for action and change in the orchestral community.
