Blue Heart volunteers

Flood Watcher

We're looking for volunteers to help test our new system, designed to notify residents when localised flooding could occur due to heavy rainfall or storms.

We need to make sure that the system works before we roll it out across the Blue Heart area in about 18 months time.

You'll be one of a team of volunteers across Eastbourne and southern Wealden who will receive an email if there is the possibility of flooding. When (or if) you receive an email during the testing period, we'll ask you to respond and let us know whether you have observed any flooding. That way, we'll know whether we've set up the system to respond at the right levels.

Future roles

There may be other opportunities to get involved in Blue Heart activities, so there's a chance on the form for you to flag your interest in these too.
