“Trust the Process: ArtSource Colorado Teacher and Student Exhibition”
October 4th - 27th, 2024
40 West Gallery, 40westarts.org
Due Date 9/6/2024
This exhibition is open to all ArtSource members who work as teachers, coaches, or mentors to students of any age.
Show Description:
“Trust the Process" is an art exhibition showcasing collaborative works between teachers and students (mentors and mentees). It's about the trust shared when a teacher guides a student's artistic journey and when a student invites their teacher into their creative process. It’s also about the many ways that students inspire teachers in their art practice. Through these collaborations, mentors and mentees explore new ideas and techniques together. Join us to witness the beautiful bond between teacher and student, where trust fuels creativity and learning.
Focusing on the theme, “Trust the Process” we ask that you address the student/relationship and the many ways that we collaborate with our students in the creation of art. As educators, we are asked to inspire our students. But often our students become an inspiration to us. It is through the collaborative relationship that depth of content and purpose grow and we learn to trust the process of creation.
We envision you making art in collaboration with those whom you teach. This can be by sharing a common prompt, creating a shared artwork such as exquisite corps, or responding to the recognized unilateral relationship that our students have on our own artmaking.
You may enter a total of 1-3 pieces, that address the theme. 2-D and 3-D work is accepted.
Lightly juried exhibition: Tammy Anderson, Deborah Abbot, Faith D, Gwen A, and Lisa Adams

ArtSource Colorado offers an annual show to their members that is based on the theme explored during the summer residency. Both the art residency and the challenge to submit to this show provide an opportunity to reawaken the deeper reason for teaching and making art.
