ABET Board Expectations
These are the expectations associated with serving on the ABET Board of Directors. Specifically, what ABET will provide its Board Members and what the organization expects from individual board members during their term of service on the Board.
What ABET expects and commits to give Board Members
As an organization committed to good governance, the ABET Board will provide:
1. Timely notice of Board meetings and agenda for each meeting.
2. Minutes of all meetings.
3. Regular financial reports outlining ABETs financial position.
4. Reimbursement for reasonable, pre-approved expenses in conducting and attending to ABET business.
5. Access to ABETs vison and insight with regards to programs, policies, goals, and objectives via the Managing Artistic Director and Board President.
6. Timely and thorough information necessary to carry out fiscal, legal, and moral responsibilities in support of ABET.
What Board Members expect and commit to give ABET
As Ambassadors and Advocates for the betterment of ABET and all things furthering the organizations goals and objectives, members of the Board of Directors will:
1. Attend board meetings.
2. Give a personally significant financial or contribution in kind gift annually. (Gift may be a monetary donation, season tickets purchase, volunteer activity, fundraising, grant writing, etc.)
3. Attend ABET events.
4. Be able to effectively articulate ABETs mission, purpose, goals, policies, and programs.
5. Advocate on behalf of ABET to bring in new patrons, volunteers, cast and crew who’ve yet to experience ABET and its contribution to North Florida community theatre.
6. Like and share ABETs Social Media posts.
7. Volunteer to chair or serve on additional committees deemed necessary by the Board.
8. Keep all ABET Board matters confidential.
9. Avoid any potential conflicts of interest.
