Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Application

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process of mapping international gymnastic coaching accrediations/qualifications to an equivilant level within Gymnastic Australia's coaching education framework

Please be aware that RPL's typically takes a minimum of 1-3 months to complete, and you are not guaranteed to receive an accreditation. It can take longer if required paperwork is not submitted at the time of applying, or if a practical assessment is required.

Please ensure you have all the required paperwork prior to submitting an application.

Prior to completing this application form;

• please familiarise yourself with Gymnastics Australia's RPL process via this support site article.
• please familiarise yourself with Gymnastics Australia's RPL policy here.

For integrity and insurance reasons, applicants cannot actively coach, instruct or facilitate athletes/participants, lessons or classes at their prospective Australian club in any capacity until the RPL application has been approved.

Please ensure the letter/s clearly states that your employment has never been suspended or that you have never been subject to any complaint investigation.

Gymnastics Australia recommends using the following template when requesting letter of recommendation.

Letter must be provided on Club Letterhead and be written in or translated into English.

Please attach a letter of recommendation/reference from ALL National Federations you have worked within from the past ten years.

IMPORTANT

Please ensure the letter/s contain a statement on your coaching qualification(s) and level and clearly states that your membership status has never been suspended/cancelled or that you have never been subject to any complaint investigation.

Gymnastics Australia recommends using the following template when requesting letter of recommendation.

Letter must be provided on National Federation Letterhead and be written in or translated into English.

For UK applicants, this letter must be from British Gymnastics. Letter(s) from Independent Gymnastics Association (IGA) will not be accepted.
