Ricochet Media's 2024 Reader Survey
This year, Ricochet turns 10 years old. In those ten years we've earned a reputation for producing investigative journalism that serves the public interest - and we're looking forward to continuing to serve the public for the next ten! So as we plan for a new decade of hard-hitting reporting, nothing is more important that your feedback. Can you spare a minute or two to help us better understand the communities we serve? NOTE: None of your data will be sold, shared or otherwise used for any purpose other than the improvement of Ricochet Media.

How do you get your news?
At a time where the industry is in such flux, we want to meet you where you are.
On June 22nd, 2023, the federal government passed the Online News Act with the goal of ensuring the sustainability of the media sector. The Act attempted to get tech giants like Google and Meta to pay outlets for the news content that populates their sites. As a result, Meta now prohibits Canadians from accessing news content, and Google threatened to do the same before coming to an agreement with the government. Since, independent outlets across the country have been feeling the string of their content being removed from Meta's platforms. We know how this has impacted us, but we want to know how it's impacted you? Do you feel more or less informed about what is going in your community, in the world?
