  • 2024-2025 Westwood HS Band Registration

Welcome to the Westwood Area Band Boosters for 2024-2025!
  • Did You Know?

Every family is a member of the Westwood Area Band Boosters simply by having a student in band!

    Who is WABB?

The Westwood Area Band Boosters (WABB) consists of parents, guardians, and friends of the band program who support all of our bands at Westwood, Grisham, and Canyon Vista.

What is the purpose of WABB?

The WABB funds services and educational opportunities not provided by RRISD. In other words, membership dues, band fees, and fundraising are the means by which the activities of our marching and concert bands are funded.

The WABB also provides the volunteer manpower that it takes to support a high quality band program and serves as the communications network for parents and guardians.

Why does WABB matter to our Bands?

The WABB funds the following band activities at Westwood, Grisham, and Canyon Vista throughout the school year:

    • Instructional support and technicians
    • Private lesson financial assistance
    • College scholarships
    • Band camp scholarships
    • Competition entry fees
    • Equipment
    • Marching show props
    • Color Guard training
    • New marching instruments
    • And much more!

For the 2024 marching show, WABB has chosen to purchase the marching performance tops and will retain them at the end of the season.  WABB plans to sell the tops (yes, other bands will want to buy them!) which returns additional funds to the band.  This is one way WABB's fundraising efforts lowers band fees.

How can I participate in WABB?

The WABB needs you in order to be successful supporters of our band programs, so we are glad you asked!

As a member of WABB, please:

    • Complete registration and payment of fees for your student(s)
    • Consider an additional donation
    • Participate as a Volunteer
    • Support fundraising efforts
    • Attend WABB General Meetings
    • Enthusiastically cheer during band competitions and concerts (the students really do love it!)

Your registration includes the $40 Basic Membership (per family) to WABB and there are other membership levels that include opportunities for additional donations. 100% of your donation to the Westwood Area Band Boosters is used to support our band programs!!

Remember, your membership dues and any additional donations help band students at Westwood, Grisham, and Canyon Vista all year long!

  • Membership Options

Your participation is VITAL to the success of our program! Financial support of WABB helps with purchasing new marching instruments, master class instruction, sound equipment, musical scores, and other items that equip our band students with the things they need to perform at the highest level.

For families with more than one band student: Please register each student separately, with the membership fee paid on the first student's registration form. Only one membership fee is required per family, so for subsequent registration forms, please select the "Additional sibling from previously registered student this year" option below.

  • Volunteer Opportunities

Our WABB is 100% run by volunteers and serves as the key source of manpower for the band program throughout the year.  In fact, almost every band-related activity other than actually playing instruments, tossing flags, and directing the band is done by volunteers!

In addition to your family's minimum requirement of two concessions assignments**, there are many areas that need adult volunteers for our band program to efficiently and effectively function. Volunteering is a great way to get to know other awesome band families!

Please indicate your interest below for the following volunteer opportunities. There is a place for you whatever your interests, skill sets, and availability! You will be contacted at a later date by the specific committee chair with information on specific tasks along with time and date options.

** Every family is expected to work a minimum of two (2) concession shifts each year.  Shifts can be at Freshman, JV, or Varsity regular season games.  We are also expected to support playoff games at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex which counts towards the (2)  required shifts.

It is a district level decision to utilize football concessions as a means of raising funds for all RRISD bands (Westwood, Cedar Ridge, McNeil, Round Rock, Stony Point). We are fortunate to have the opportunity as it one way we raise funds for the band and our history of volunteership efforts affords us this chance over other booster clubs.

All meals provided will accommodate those allergies/restrictions. Due to the large number of meals provided each week, personal food preferences cannot be accommodated.

If a band member is approved to opt out, you must ensure the band member receives a meal from other sources.
