Dear Camper:
Greetings!
We are very excited that you have registered for Southern Union’s Fine Arts Camp scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, July 10-11, 2024. The Southern Union Fine Arts Camp will offer a wonderful and unique experience for students to explore their interest and expand their talents in the areas of music and dance. Our camp will provide a noncompetitive, nurturing environment based on our belief that students benefit most when they feel safe to venture into new activities and grow in confidence and new-found abilities.
Campers should report to the Renaissance Center Lobby on the Wadley Campus on Wednesday, July 10, at 8:15 a.m. Central time, for sign-in and registration. Orientation will be from 8:45 until 9:00. On Thursday, camp will begin at 9:00 a.m. Parents should drop off and pick up campers on the street level (Dining Hall side) of the Renaissance Center on the Wadley Campus. Parents who want to stay for the day may use the Student Center sun deck as well as the Resource Center (Library). The Piedmont Plateau Birding Trail around the perimeter of the campus provides a great place for walking/hiking. On Thursday, we will have a short exhibition and closing ceremony in the Renaissance Auditorium from 3:30 until 4:30. Parents are welcome to attend.
Lunch and a mid-morning snack will be provided at no cost to the campers. Lunch and snack will be served in the college dining hall according to the camp schedule. A limited variety of snacks and soft drinks are available for sale in the college bookstore. (Parents are welcome to purchase lunch and eat in the Dining Hall each day.)
CAMP CLASSES will welcome and encourage the beginner and challenge the most experienced. Our campers will learn from dedicated professionals offering superior guidance and leadership. Students will have an opportunity to study under the widely- acclaimed fine arts faculty at Southern Union as well as master guest instructors.
