    • Bluenose Achievement Award 
    • This award honours a person or community group that promotes the positive values of recreation. It highlights their strong leadership, programs, activities, and services that benefit individuals and the community socially, economically, and environmentally.

    • Mayflower Community Cooperation Award 
    • This award celebrates successful collaboration between community groups and local governments to develop new and innovative programs, policies, services, or activities that encourage healthier, more active communities.

    • Connecting People with Nature Award    
    • This award recognizes efforts by an organization, community, or individual to enhance access to outdoor spaces (built or natural), encouraging more Nova Scotians to enjoy nature.

    • Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Access Award  
    • This award honours efforts to apply an equity, diversity, inclusion, and access (EDIA) lens in recreation projects or programs.

    • Event/Program Excellence Award 
    • This award acknowledges a local government or community group that excels in planning and delivering innovative events or programs by maximizing partnerships, increasing inclusion and access for those who face barriers to participation, and promoting healthy, active living.   

    • Heart of Recreation Award 
    • This new award recognizes a staff member, volunteer, or organization that has gone above and beyond to support the community in response to emerging challenges, such as natural disasters or food insecurity, showing the heart of recreation in providing safe spaces and environments and connecting communities.

    • Professional Achievement Award 
    • This award honours current or former recreation professionals who have shown exceptional commitment and achievements in the recreation field. Their contributions reflect professionalism through mentoring, leadership, and support, paving the way for future generations of recreation professionals.

    • Honourary Life Membership Award    
    • This prestigious award honours an individual, paid or volunteer, who has made remarkable and consistent contributions to recreation in Nova Scotia for over 20 years. This person has stepped away from full-time work in this field and is someone the community wants to publicly recognize.

      Contributions may be demonstrated by: 

      • Creating a lasting and positive impact on recreation   
      • Serving in leadership roles within RNS or other recreation organizations at local, regional, provincial, or national levels
      • Receiving positive recognition from peers and the community for their efforts
      • Bringing passion and enthusiasm to their work

      Nominations that do not have anything filled out in either section will have less to be graded on therefore may lose the chance to be a recipient.
