Teaching classes is our top priority, with a maximum limit of 20 hours per week. When your class schedule reaches full capacity, we'll hire a part-time instructor to assist you in your region.
    2. Will I be required to teach classes outside of my designated region? Most of your teaching and responsibilities, about 95%, will be within your designated region. However, occasionally, there might be team-wide meetings or events where your presence is required, or you may need to visit another region for specific reasons. We strive to give you advance notice for such occurrences to ensure proper preparation.
    3. What will a typical day look like? In the mornings, the first hour or two are dedicated to checking emails, voicemails, and text messages, and promptly responding to inquiries about our breaking program. Following that, you'll transition into sales, utilizing our project management system (Asana & AC Dashboard) to follow up with leads from parents, schools, and organizations interested in hosting our program. The remainder of the day will be spent teaching a variety of classes including preschool, after school, beginners, and crew sessions. Weekly meetings and additional planning sessions are also part of the schedule.
    4. How long does administrative training take? The comprehensive training, covering both administrative tasks and teaching methods, spans approximately 2 to 4 months. This duration aligns with the length of our sessions, allowing ample time to address various scenarios and develop proficiency in handling them effectively.
    5. Are there health insurance benefits included? There are currently no health insurance benefits. However, as the company and position grows, benefits will be added.
    6. Do I get paid for drive time? Yes, it is outlined in the AC Manual how this is calculated.
    7. Will I be able to be involved with other dance related activities, jobs, etc? This career comes with a lot of responsibility and will require you to manage your time efficiently. It is expected that this job is your number one priority when it comes to dance and work related activities. As long as you are able to plan ahead, give ample amount of time for your request and communicate well and produce great results within your region then you should not have a problem finding time to compete and train and even do small projects on the side. We want all of our instructors and managers to have a diverse portfolio and be fulfilled both inside and outside of work!

  • Path Forward Steps & Timeline

    Phase 1 - Learning & Understanding
Phase one is focused on learning what WeBreak is about, how to teach excellent classes, and what the day-to-day responsibilities of an AC are. Please refer to the WeBreak Area Coordinator Informational to get a clear understanding of what the position entails.

Below are requirements to be completed within the first phase:

    1. Be hired as part-time WeBreak Instructor
    2. Read, learn and understand WeBreak's:
      • Teaching Curriculum
      • Mission Statement
      • Core Values
      • 3 C's
      • Area Coordinator Informational
    3. Teach excellent classes according to the curriculum
    4. Submit interest form for WeBreak Path Forward Program (to start the process of pursuing an AC position)

Phase one will take approximately one to four months to complete (up to 1 session), or longer depending how interested, eager and determined the applicant is in progressing towards becoming an AC.

    Phase 2 - Evaluation
Phase two consists of your work being evaluated. By this point, you should have a strong understanding of WeBreak's curriculum, mission, core values, and the AC position.

During this second phase, you will meet with the owner and your supervising AC to review your teaching, and other relevant areas, to ensure you meet the position's standards of excellence. You do not need to be the perfect instructor to advance in this program. However, we are looking for individuals who welcome feedback, constructive criticism, and are determined to turn their weaknesses into strengths.

Phase two will take about four to twelve months to complete (1-3 sessions), depending on the level of dedication and efforts. We want applicants to learn and grow, therefore we do not want anyone to rush through the process; questions and patience are welcomed from those interested in taking this path forward to becoming an AC.

Below are the areas of work you will be evaluated & graded on via session developmental meetings:

    1. Teaching/curriculum & personal breaking
    2. Attendance & being on-time
    3. Administrative duties
    4. Internal & external communications
    5. Understanding of WeBreak (mission, core values, AC position)

    Phase 3 - Planning
Phase three is for those individuals who have an excellent understanding of WeBreak, and who have also excelled in receiving feedback during phase two.

At this stage, viable AC candidates will begin the interview process, in which a new region is determined together. Higher levels of discussion will take place during this phase, in which could involve discussions about moving to a new region, schedule details, sales training, and official AC training.

The AC Interview process consists of:

    1. Interviewing with upper management to determine hiring plan & new region
    2. Determine timeline (i.e. transition from part-time to full-time, moving details if applicable, starting pay)

Due to planning and scheduling being a complex topic, to determine the best time to bring an applicant on full-time, this phase may take anywhere from four to twelve months to complete (1-3 sessions).

    Phase 4 - Hiring
The final phase is the time to take action and get hands on experience as an AC. The new region location, timeline, and scheduling has all been determined in the prior phase. After all training is complete, the part-time Instructor will transition to full-time AC on the date and time determined.

    1. Sales training (1-2 sessions)
    2. AC training & transition period (30-40 hours per week)
    3. Start AC position fully after trainings are completed (40 hours per week)
