In cooperation and with support from the Garfield RE2 School District, Camp BADGE will be holding its 2025 Jr. Police Academy in July. The date for camp will be Monday July 14th – Friday July 18th. We will only be holding one camp this year, so it is important that you sign up as soon as possible. Camp will be held at the Graham Mesa Elementary School Field and is for kids entering grades 3-8. Camp BADGE will begin at 8am and last until 12pm Monday through Friday. The Enrollment Fee for the camp is $40 and will go towards the Cadet’s Uniform, Field Trip Expenses, and Graduation on Friday.
Camp BADGE is a fun, but educational camp for kids who have an interest in law enforcement, want to make some awesome friends, or who want to meet our local first responders. The mission is to reinforce the bond between the police and the community.
Camp BADGE always focuses on building trust, respect, and breaking the misconceptions society may have about law enforcement. There will be an emphasis on the role of Police Officers in the Community, the importance of working together to keep the community Safe, and on being responsible not only at home, but in school. The following is an overview of the other things that are covered during camp.
Overview:
At the beginning of the academy, cadets will learn the acronym BADGE and what it means. The academy will help teach the cadets about police work, physical fitness and nutrition, teamwork, as well as discipline and respect. The academy will be run with a strict adherence to our expectations and rules; however, the main goal is to have fun. Cadets will be given a uniform on the first day and will be expected to wear it each day. They will graduate with a framed certificate of completion, individual awards, and every Cadet will get to keep their uniform. We will be celebrating the graduation in the Rifle High School auditorium. After graduation we will meet at the Rifle Metro Pool. The graduation location is subject to change depending on availability.

MESSAGE FROM CEO/RETIRED DETECTIVE SERGEANT JOSH UHERNIK
Our goal is to provide the Cadets with an experience that they will remember for the rest of their lives. We hope that they make friendships and bonds with not only the other cadets, but also the Officers.
Due to Scheduling and Police Department demands, a lot of the Officers volunteer their own time. This shows the dedication and desire they have to bring together law enforcement and the residents in the communities. Thank you again for your support and help in making this another great year for Camp BADGE
