School Holiday Group Therapy Info Pack - July 2024

Hi there, here is all the information that you'll need to know about our July school holiday groups  - plus a way to sign up. Lets get started!

    Stepping Stones Therapy Services is running a range of group therapy sessions, to provide some additional support to both new and existing clients over the July school holiday period.

    We will continue to run a range of after school group therapy sessions next term. More information about these will be provided shortly.

    Circus Training:

    The Circus is coming to town!!

    Circus WA are sending their trainers down to Bunbury to join the Stepping Stones team for two fun-filled sessions of Circus Skills. This will test your coordination and muscle strength in fun activities, while enjoying a social activity with peers and making friendships. The Stepping Stones team will be there to provide any additional social and regulation support to ensure that everyone makes the most out of this unique expereince. 

    Partipants might be interested in also attending our group session on the 5th July, where they will see the same Circus WA trainers in action live on stage. 

     

    Finer details:

    Date/Time: Monday 1st July , 10am - 12pm - Junior Session

                        Monday 1st July, 1pm - 3pm - Teenage Session

     

    Price: To be confirmed - we are still awaiting details from the Circus regarding pricing.  This can be completely funded through NDIS funding; please speak to one of our staff to find out more.

    Craft & Pamper Day

    This group is aimed to provide a safe and inclusive space for those who would like to join in some self care pampering, while also targeting functional, social and sensory skills. 

    Join Stepping Stones to learn life skills such as schedule planning, catching public transport and a sensory treat of getting your nails professionally done.  The morning will be filled with fun activites including creating vision boards, friendship bracelets and other craft while building social connections.  Participants will then be required to make their own lunch and clean up before catching the bus to town for a relaxing manicure or pedicure.          

     

    Finer details:

    Dates: Tuesday 2nd July, 10am - 3:00pm 

    Price: $495. This can be partially or completely funded through Medicare, Private Health and NDIS funding; please speak to one of our staff to find out more.

    What to bring: A full water bottle! Please wear thongs if planning to get a pedicure.

    Unfortunately, siblings are unable to attend this group program

    Parents required?: Parents are not required to attend these sessions.

    Escape Bunbury/Play Bunbury

    Start your day at Homebase, before catching public transport into town to embark on a collaborative adventure using problem solving, communication and team building skills to sleuth their way out of the "Time's-up" escape rooms.

    Participants will then enjoy a lunch together in a local cafe, building social connections.

    The afternoon will see participants attend a live performance at BREC by B'Spoke Circus, with an opportunity to try circus skills after the show for 20 minutes. The Stepping Stones team will be there to ensure that all attendees have their sensory and emotional regulation needs met, and to support social skill development amongst peers and the circus performers. 

    You might like to have already attended our group on Monday 1st July, which provides a chance for a more personalised circus training experience with the same performers.

    Gravity and Gaming Session:

    Join the Stepping Stones team and have fun making social connections while jumping in a safe and exciting environment. This is an opportunity to build gross motor and core strength while applying problem solving skills through play.

    After a 2-hour session at Gravity the clients will then catch the bus to Homebase, to use functional skills by making their own lunch and cleaning up. The day will end with an afternoon of "chillin" with team games and Lego activities.

    Date/Time: Wednesday 10th July , 10am - 3pm

    Price: $495.  This can be completely funded through NDIS funding; please speak to one of our staff to find out more.

    Location:  Drop off: Gravity ETC - 43 Norton Promenade Dalyellup

    Parents required?: Parents are not required to attend these sessions. Parents will need to sign a Waiver with Gravity ETC prior to the session. This can be done online or when you drop off your child.

    Bowling and Laser Tag

    Meet the Stepping Stones team at the Ten-Pin Bowling Centre to engage in a day of bowling and Laser Tag.

    The morning will give participants the opportunity to play a couple of games of ten-pin bowling, while engaging in social skills and building friendships.

    To break the sessions up the participants will split into teams to purchase their lunch from an agreed venue guided by our team members, before walking/catching a bus to their afternoon activity. 

    The afternoon session will involve an immersive live gaming experience of Laser Tag where co-ordination and gross motor skills are needed! Everyone will then be collected from the Laser Tag venue at the end of the session.

    Location: Drop Off - Ten-Pin Bowling Centre, 136 Strickland Street Bunbury.

    Skating & Volleyball/Bouncy Castles:

    Join the Stepping Stones team in Davenport to first test your coordination and fitness at the Indoor Skating Rink - it is not as easy as it may look! This is also a great opportunity to build friendships and work together during the organised games that run during the session.

    After a 2-hour session at Skating  clients will then walk for 5 minutes to Bunbury Indoor Beach Volleyball Centre where they will eat lunch and then enjoy an afternoon of Beach Volleyball/Bouncy Castles.
