What is a river cruise?

River cruises are smaller boats compared to ocean cruise ships which mean less people which means shorter waiting times in regards to getting into restaurants or partaking in other activities the boat has to offer. Plus, it has more of a relaxed atmosphere designed to allow you to rest in-between onshore excursions along the way. 

River cruises come with all-inclusive trips. and have spectacular views. Sailing out on the ocean means you’ll be seeing a lot of water throughout your trip, but river cruises are able to get you much closer to the mainland, which allows for much more scenic tours and exploring. Oceans take you to countries, but rivers take you through them.

With Airlus this allows our team to take care of everything for you, saving you the time and trouble of searching for the best fares. With our knowledge and experience, we will coordinate the most direct route to your destination within your budget. While we make your plans behind the scenes, you can simply look forward to your much-anticipated river cruise vacation.

We can take care of you throughout your entire journey and that includes providing you with great options of getting you to and from your destination. Many of our guests choose to reserve their flights through us, which enables us to offer excellently priced airfares in economy and business class, providing more flexibility. We only contract with the most comfortable, trusted airlines that offer a high-quality experience.

Reserving flights through us priovides you with an incredible peace of mind and great fares on quality airlines with included transfers between the airport and ship or your hotel. And schedule deviations are available for Airplus rates, so you can have the flexibility to fly on the day that works best fro you! Once you have made a desposit, within 24 to 48 hours your air will be booked but it has to be within a timeframe of the 330 days from your cruise date in order to book Airplus.

Economy Air-2025 $899 per person and for 2026 $999 per person

Premium Economy Air-$2,299 per person

Business Class Air-$4,299 per person

We offer Travel Insurance!

We customize either basic or extensive coverage to fit your budget and needs, ensuring that we have a quote (separate from your trip quote) ready for discussion when we review your free trip estimate

If a client is not completely satisfied, they have 15 days (or more, depending on state of residence) to request a refund, provided they haven’t started their trip or initiated a claim. Premiums are non-refundable after this period. 

Interested in our Travel Waiver Plus?

This provides cancellation for any reason, up to 31 days prior to the start of your purchased service (cruise, pre/post-cruise land packages, air etc.). It is applicable to European and Mekong river cruises sailing from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2027. Travel Waiver Plus can only be added at time of deposit and requires the purchase of the Cruise Protection Plan. (Insurance Plan-from above) 

Should you decide to cancel your river cruise for any reason, you will have the following options based on date of cancellation:

-Cancellation received up to 31 days prior to start of AmaWaterways services: Future Cruise Credit** covering cancellation penalties and the balance will be monetary refund calculated based on our standard cancellation policy for services purchased through AmaWaterways.
-Cancellation received less than 31 days prior to start of AmaWaterways services: A Future Cruise Credit will not be given and the penalties for the entire booking will be lost and not replaced.

Travel Waiver Plus price:$150 per person – with required purchase of Cruise Protection Plan*(Travel Insurance) 

TRAVEL WAIVER PLUS TERMS & CONDITIONS: 
AmaWaterways’ Travel Waiver Plus is only applicable to FIT and Group bookings; can only be added at time of deposit and requires the purchase of the AmaWaterways Cruise Protection Plan. After deposit, Travel Waiver Plus can no longer be added. This offer is only applicable to reservations sailing from January 1, 2025 - December 31, 2027. Travel Waiver Plus is not applicable to any Africa Safaris & Wildlife Cruises or Secrets of Egypt & the Nile. Travel Waiver Plus allows guests to cancel 31 days (or more) prior to the start of their AmaWaterways purchased services and covers cancellation penalties in the form of a Future Cruise Credit** for services purchased through AmaWaterways. Travel Waiver Plus does not cover custom services or Cruise Protection Plan premium. Travel Waiver Plus does not include any additional benefits; additional insurance coverage is recommended.
