We require that a meet and greet be scheduled prior to the pet sitter's arrival to ensure both pet sitter, owner and pet feel comfortable and ensure it is a good fit for everyone. It is also an opportunity for both parties to ask questions and communicate any additional concerns. To ensure the safety of both the pet sitter and your pet, any reactive or aggessive behaviours must be disclosed during this meeting.
If these behaviours are not disclosed, and are subsequently displayed by the pet, the pet sitter will be instructed to leave and the owner will be required to immediately find alternative care for their pet and payment for services provided to date will continue to be required.
Written instructions outlining items such as feeding schedule and preparation (if applicable), treat distribution, collars/leashes/harnesses to be used during walks (if applicable), special toys, usual routines, safe area/kennel to be used when pet sitter is away from your home or the drop-in sitter leaves, pet preferences and quirks, etc., and reconfirming medication and dosing will need to be left at your home for the pet sitter.
Please ensure that you provide enough food, kitty litter (if applicable), and any other necessary supplies for the duration of your absence. Also, if your pet requires medication, please ensure that enough medication is provided, as well as any additional requirements to ensure your pet takes his or her medication. Examples of this may be peanut butter, pill pockets, a special treat, and so on. If the pet sitter is required to purchase additional supplies, a receipt will be provided to you and the cost will be added to your invoice.
For overnight clients:
We recognize that many people have security cameras both outside and inside their homes for security purposes, and appreciate the need and desire for them. However, to protect the privacy and personal dignity of our pet sitters, we ask that if you have cameras placed in places that one would have an expectation of privacy (bathrooms, room where the pet sitter will be sleeping, etc.) that these are removed if possible, or will be covered for the reasons stated above.
The pet sitter will leave your home at 7:00 a.m. on their last day of service. If you require care to be provided after this time on the last day, a drop-in fee will be applied.
