Factors we consider before acceptance;

Your families commitment inside and outside of school to Montessori and our school values: Tiaki, Compassion, Curiosity and Humility.

It is very important for us to understand your child’s ability to follow instructions, co-operate in a group, work independently and overall social maturity. Some of these things we will observe during your child's visit with us.

We do not have an admissions test or minimum academic criteria. We do however need a sense of your child’s present level of reading comprehension, writing ability, mathematics, and cultural literacy.

It is a condition of enrollment that all families will actively contribute to the school for a minimum of 5 hours per term, 20 hours per year. In the rare event that a family does not contribute volunteer hours a $200 levy per child will be charged. What skills/resources are you able to share with the community?

We receive minimal government funding and no funding for staffing or the building. Our monthly expenses (lease, rates, power, resources) are around $5000.

Currently all of our staff are volunteers, it is our goal that all staff will be paid.

As we are a registered charity you can claim 33% of your donation back through IRD at the end of each tax year.

What's next?

1. If you haven't already you will be invited for a tour of the school. Your child will also be invited to visit on a different date.

2. We may also ask for the following if you have not already provided them:

a copy of your child's visa. We can only accept children with a Domestic Student Visa or a Dependent Child Resident Visa (if applicable)
a copy of your child's latest school reports
a character reference

3. You will be asked to undertake a one hour online course on Montessori

4. You will be sent a copy of our contract along with an invoice for donation, bond, and fees payable.
