  • Addressing climate change involves participating in an energy transition towards clean, non-emitting energy; decreasing emissions from our food systems; and protecting/increasing carbon sinks (that remove carbon from the atmosphere).

There are "big rock" and "small rock" actions that directly reduce your personal carbon footprint.

There are also many other actions that ease the transition and support systemic change, i.e. societal shifts in the right direction.

Some actions have other benefits as well such as saving money, improving your health, promoting biodiversity, decreasing waste and pollution, supporting vulnerable populations and so much more.

  • The big rocks

Ideally, these 3 bigger changes can be put onto a 6 year timeline if they relevant for you.

If you can't consider them now, or if they don't apply to you, there are lots of other options!  But let's keep them on the radar....

  • Understood!

If you have electric baseboard heating, you still might consider a heat pump for energy efficiency and cost savings!

If you don't control your space heating options, but want to support this societal shift, consider passing this website along to the owner of your home or others that may benefit!

  • Select a few new habits to focus on in the next year, then circle back and increase your ambition. Picking a handful of options will make it easier to stay on track.

Many of these options can save you money, improve health and wellbeing, support social justice and/or decrease plastic pollution and waste !
