  • The demographic information we collect will be used to match you with relevant updates on research you may be interested in. For this reason, the following questions are mandatory, however you can tick 'prefer not say' if you'd prefer not to disclose certain information. This may, however, limit our ability to inform you of relevant participation opportunities. If you have any questions, please email communitynetwork@lgbt.foundation

  • Participant Declaration

  • Below we have our participant declaration, which explains a couple of things about your personal data like your email address. In order to participate, we need you to select yes. If you select no, LGBT Foundation will not be able to progress your request to participate in the scheme.

    By selecting Yes, you agree to that you have read, understood and agree to the following:

    • Receive contact about future research I might want to participate in 
    • Receive contact about consultations (both notifications of new consultations and invitations to response groups) 
    • Receive contact about policy updates (i.e., briefings, summaries of the research work LGBT Foundation has done each quarter) 
    • Receive contact for feedback about my experiences LGBT Foundation will use the details I have entered during the recruitment process. LGBT Foundation may contact me for an informal discussion, and will send updates and further steps of recruitment if my application is successful.
    • LGBT Foundation is committed to creating a volunteer programme which reflects the diversity of our communities. This includes dedicated efforts to be anti-racist and include more people of colour, to be trans-inclusive throughout the organisation, to empower women and women-aligned people, and to be inclusive of people over 50, as these communities are currently under-represented in our volunteer team. LGBT Foundation will use my demographic information to evaluate where further inclusion work is needed.
    • LGBT Foundation may hold and use personal information about me to inform me about the Volunteer Programme at LGBT Foundation and to keep in touch with me about events and opportunities through the Volunteer e-bulletin.
    • This information, including that contained in this form will be stored within computer files and data management systems. This information will be held for 7 years from your end date.
    • All information given will be kept in the strictest of confidence and in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations. It will be held securely and only accessed by authorised personnel.
    • I can request my data to be removed from the Volunteer mailing list at any time, and can do this by clicking on the link at the bottom of the Volunteer e-bulletin.
    • I am responsible for urgently notifying LGBT Foundation of any changes to my personal details that affect my safety when I am actively volunteering, such as a change in phone number, email address, or emergency contact.
    • I am responsible for notifying LGBT Foundation about any changes to my personal details such as my name, sexual orientation, gender, trans status or pronoun usage, where I am comfortable sharing this information.

  • Participants are expected to: 

    • consent to participant data being shared with researchers where participants meet the relevant research criteria  
    • participate in research where available, if participants meet the relevant criteria   
    • contact LGBT Foundation to update participant details where these have changed  
    • understand that participants may opt out of the Network for any reason, and at any time, by contacting communitynetwork@lgbt.foundation.  
    • treat all information as confidential unless otherwise stated. This includes information received from LGBT Foundation and its partners, information shared within or in relation to focus group participation and information from other attendees where relevant. Any breaches of confidentiality may lead to removal from the Network.   
    • understand that participation in the Network does not allow participants to act as representatives of LGBT Foundation, and that any inappropriate use or attribution of LGBT Foundation’s name, brand or associated materials may lead to removal from the Network.  
    • have access to a routinely monitored email inbox, as email will be the primary method of contact for the Network.  

    LGBT Foundation will: 

    • ensure research partners meet LGBT Foundation’s standards in line with our ethical fundraising policy.   
    • endeavor to ensure research partners include remuneration for attendees as far as is reasonably possible

  • Participants are expected to adhere to our Safe Spaces policy. In order to enable us to come together and celebrate ourselves, there are a few ground rules to ensure that everyone feels as welcome and comfortable as possible at all times.
