    The Poetry Foundation makes parts of its facilities available to 501(c)(3) nonprofit cultural and arts organizations at no charge for their internal meetings (not open to the general public).
  • About the Facility

    • Private meeting space for up to 50 people
    • Limited availability on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9AM–5PM
      These hours include time for setup and take down
    • Requests are considered in the order they arrive
    • Please submit your request 6 to 8 weeks in advance

    Submission of a request does not guarantee use of the facilities. The Foundation has the sole and exclusive right to approve any application and to revoke a previously-approved application. If you have any questions, please contact spacerequest@poetryfoundation.org.

    What Poetry Foundation Provides

    • Space set-up, including chairs and tables.
    • Projector with audio, HDMI cables, wireless handheld microphones (2), OWL meeting camera, and wifi, as needed. (Organizations must provide their own computers.)
    • Access to our kitchen space. (Catering must be pre-prepared; no cooking or meal-prep onsite.)
    • Set-up and tear-down of space. 


    What the Guest Organization Provides 

    • Signed Facilities Use License Agreement.
    • Point person to communicate with Foundation staff.
    • Communication with your attendees.
    • A laptop computer, if you need to present or connect to a virtual meeting space.
    • Your own Zoom or Google Meet space, if you plan to have a hybrid meeting.
    • Catering or food/beverages. No alcohol or hot food stations requiring heating elements of any sort are permitted.

  • Space Use Policies

    In order to maintain a safe and welcoming environment, all visitors are asked to abide by our visitor guidelines. We welcome diverse perspectives and institutional critique, and our building is a space to have respectful dialogue. This set of guidelines is a living document and we welcome your feedback as a guest in the Poetry Foundation building. Guests who engage in behavior we deem disruptive and/or harassing towards staff, visitors, or performers will be asked to stop, and might be asked to leave if the behavior continues. 

    Space Use Guidelines

    • An organization will be approved to use the facility only one time per calendar year 
    • Approval of one request does not promise or indicate approval of any future request
    • No alcohol is permitted.
    • No hot food stations or other stations requiring heating elements of any sort are permitted.
    • Maximum capacity is 50 people.
      Your organization must use the room layout approved by the Foundation.
    • No political campaign activity, lobbying or lobbying preparation, sales, or fundraising may occur in the facilities.
    • An approval provides access to only the specified portions of the facilities; no access to any other part of the Foundation’s facilities permitted
