Over the years, Sigma Gamma Rho has served as a home for thousands of collegiate and professional women looking for a place to share inspiring life experiences, learn new things, conquer life challenges, thrive in society, and uplift the community through sisterhood, scholarship, and service. The dynamic women of Sigma Gamma Rho have built and sustained a well-known and highly respected reputation for leading positive change. We currently have more than 500 chapters in the United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Belize, Bermuda, Canada, Ghana, Germany, Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates.
The Mu Lambda Sigma Alumnae Chapter was chartered in Trenton, New Jersey on October 22, 2016 by 10 professional women committed to serving the Mercer County community. The mission of Mu Lambda Sigma Alumnae Chapter is to uphold and support the mission of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. by enhancing the quality of life within the Mercer County community. Our chapter will achieve these things through public service, leadership development, and education, which are all hallmarks of the organization’s programs and initiatives. We support our youth in succeeding in higher education by providing financial assistance.
"A Legacy of "Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service."
Soror Jennifer A. Carter was inducted into Gamma Omicron Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. at Metropolitan State College (now University) on April 15, 1993. Soror Carter was a Life Member and received Ruby Member Status (22+ years of service) before entering Omega Rho on September 20, 2016. Before her untimely transition, Soror Carter was a very active member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. on the local, regional, and international level. The highlights of her sorority tenure include, but are not limited to, being the Western Region Grammateus (1998-2004), International Grand Tamiochus (2006-2008), and a chartering member of Mu Lambda Sigma Alumnae Chapter. Unfortunately, Soror Carter passed away before the chapter was officially chartered on October 22, 2016.
In efforts to continue her legacy of "Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service", Mu Lambda Sigma Alumnae Chapter created a scholarship fund in her name and memory for deserving students.
