  • West Alameda Business Association Application/Authorization for use of the WABA Outdoor Event Space 
    (1435 WEBSTER STREET)

  • The WABA Outdoor Event Space (AKA Healing Garden) is a privately managed and operated by the West Alameda Business Association and is a community space for events, celebrations, and gatherings. 

    Formerly known as the Al Fresco Dining Park, WABA has invested significant funds to curate and activate this unique and versitle space.

    Since it’s inception in 2020, the Healing Garden has become a significant draw to Webster Street by locals and visitors alike.

  • General Use Rules:

    • After use, all tables, chairs, wine barrels and trash bins must be returned to their original condition.

    • User will adhere to the City of Alameda’s guidelines for waste disposal. Click here for the latest guidelines. Any waste or debris not disposed of properly will be removed and the user will be charged.

    • User agrees to indemnify WABA, its officers, partners, agents, and employees, from any problems or costs that might arise. This includes things like legal issues, claims, losses, and expenses. User will also make sure to give WABA proof of insurance before each event, showing that West Alameda Business Association is covered as well, with at least one million dollars per incident. This proof should be provided 10 days before the event.

    • Acknowledge The West Alameda Business Association as sponsor. 
  • Parking

    • Parking – Parking is available in the lot behind the event space. There are 15 parking spaces for a fee of $10 per space / per day. No parking signs will be provided, but will be monitored by the user. Use of the Laundry Time parking lot is prohibited.

  • Use of Stage

    • Stage must be restored to original condition at the conclusion of the event. Any waste or debris not disposed of properly will be removed and the user will be charged.

    • The use of staples, nails, paint, or anything that would permanently alter the stage is prohibited. There are 2 hooks at the facade level for hanging banners.They are 16' apart - bring string-etc for your banner which needs eyelets. There are also some hooks on the front stage 4x4s to hang banners.

    • Sound and lighting plans must be approved by WABA. Amplified sound will be approved on a case by case basis and may require a permit from the City of Alameda.

    • Power to the Stage - User will need a 6’ Foot, power cord to plug into one of the three outlets behind the stage (see diagram This cord will be connected to the black power cable under the stage.) NOTE: there is a small power strip under the stage, this is not to be used or unplugged at any time.
