Join us for our ground breaking artist development sessions with renowned artist Larry Poncho Brown. These are essential training sessions for emerging, mid career, and established artists that desire taking their art business to the next level.
Session 1: IMAGEMAKER STANDARDS
A discussion on the evolution of black artists and the state of black art. This session will re-examine the artist's role. Assessment of the commercial artist and fine artist trajectories, and identify the three levels of progression of an artist. We will also be discussing artist best practices.
Session 2: ARTIST KEYS TO SELF PROMOTION
The session will explore the basics of artist marketing and promotion, as well as incorporating online and social networking presence. The discussion will also address branding.
Session 3: ARTIST CRITIQUE & FEEDBACK
This session will delve into a professional critiquing session on the artists portfolio. NO DIGITAL DEVICES WILL BE UTILIZED FOR THIS SESSION! (This includes cell phones and tablets) Artists will either bring a leather portfolio https://www.dickblick.com/products/prat-start-1-portfolios/ with 5-10 of their best works, or bring 3-5 original works for critique. Session will be governed by three different perspectives from various art sectors. Three artists, two gallerists, and one art collector will give valuable input on your work. Please check your ego at the door and learn from this experience.
