2024-2025 Coaching Pass Application

2024-2025 USA Badminton Coaching Pass
USAB only recognizes those coaches certified through our USAB/BWF High-Performance coaching pathway. Specifically, at USAB sanctioned junior tournaments, it is mandatory that all coaches have a current Coaching Pass, issued annually by USAB, and have completed and presented to USAB a certificate for the BWF- Level 1 Online course. It is also needed to receive a Coaching Accreditation through USA Badminton for BWF tournaments.

NOTE: Completion of the online component of BWF-Level 1 is NOT certification at BWF-Level 1, to move forward to certification you must complete an in-person face-to-face assessment with a BWF assessor. For the purposes of obtaining a USA Badminton Coaching Pass, you are required to successfully complete ONLY the online component of the BWF-Level 1.

Only applications that meet the published criteria will be processed.

Requests for Coach accreditation for BWF tournaments MUST be made through internationalentry.usab@gmail.com and be accompanied by having a Coaching Pass for the current tournament season. We will not refund if you if you ONLY submit this application.
A Coaching Pass is required at all 2024-2025 USAB Sanctioned Junior Ranking Tournaments and MUST be visibly carried. This application is also required for receiving a Coaching Accreditation through USA Badminton for BWF tournaments. This Coaching Pass will be active starting June 16, 2024 until June 15, 2025.

Before applying, individuals must have the following:
- Current USAB Membership
- BWF Level 1 Online course certificate of completion emailed to CoachingPass@usabadminton.org
- Active and Passed Background Check
- Completed SafeSport Training
- 2x2 Passport Appropriate Photo uploaded to Club Locker account
- Signed Coach's Code of Conduct (LINK HERE)

Self-Management Expectation

The USAB coaches with coaching passes are expected to maintain the active status of their coaching certification by ensuring that they meet the following criteria:
1. Have a current USA Badminton membership.
2. Be in good USAB standing.
3. Maintain an active NCSI background screening.
4. Complete any SafeSport training requirements announced by USAB.
5. Read and agree to the USAB Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP).- Please review the USAB MAAPP.
6. Understand the SafeSport reporting mechanisms at no cost:

7. Follow and act in accordance with current and future criteria and requirements issued by USAB.
Offense & Consequences

It is the responsibility of each coach with a coaching pass to ensure the above requirements are met at all times. This pass shall only be used by you and not shared with other individuals. Failure to meet any of the above requirements may result in the following:
1. Immediate surrender of coaching pass and removal from event venue.
2. Suspension of coaching credentials and privileges at any USAB sanctioned junior tournament for a specific period of time.
3. A fine as determined by USAB.
4. Permanent suspension of coaching pass.
Any violation(s) of the USAB Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP) will result in a permanent ban from coaching and attendance at any USAB sanctioned junior tournament.
