The Dallas Association of Young Lawyers (DAYL) encourages all licensed attorneys practicing in Dallas County to meet the State Bar of Texas aspirational goal that each Texas attorney render at least 50 hours of legal services to the poor each year. The DAYL Pro Bono Partners program connects you with great organizations around DFW that provide all kinds of litigation and transactional opportunities.
DAYL also encourages paralegals in Dallas County to volunteer their time to assist with established pro bono programs and work closely with attorneys to provide legal services to the poor. If you are a paralegal interested in assisting with pro bono services, please contact the Dallas Area Paralegal Association.
The DAYL challenges you to report your pro bono hours each calendar year, January 1st to December 31st, to help DAYL meet the collective goal of 2,500 hours for the year. The deadline to submit your pro bono hours for the prior year is June 1. DAYL members can report by their hours, regardless of where they were performed, by completing this form.
DAYL members who report their pro bono hours will be recognized at the following levels during the DAYL Wine Tasting to be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026 (you do not need to be present to be recognized):
Pro Bono Participant (12 hours)
Pro Bono Partner (30 hours)
Pro Bono Pillar (50+ hours)
