    Participating in Band is a SPORT and requires extreme physical activity and growth. Please list students medical conditions here. We will not make any provisions or excuses for any conditions not listed here or formally submitted to us in writing as students try to fabricate conditions to escape the required physical exercise, conditioning, and marching involved with the sport.
  • Parent/Student Responsibility and Commitment

    Students of REHS/MS Band Program must accpet the following responibilty and commitment in order to ensure an excellent band experience for the school year. Please read them below before accpeting and submiting this membership registration.
  •  

    1. **Supportive Attendance**:
    - Attend performances, competitions, and events to show support for your child and the band program.
    - Participate in parent meetings and booster club activities to stay informed and engaged.

    2. **Encouragement and Motivation**:
    - Encourage consistent practice at home to help your child improve their musical skills.
    - Motivate and demand your child to attend all rehearsals and performances, emphasizing the importance of commitment and learning how to be a committed person.

    3. **Transportation and Logistics**:
    - Ensure your child has reliable transportation from rehearsals after school, Saturday practices at the school, some performances, and band events at the school.
    - Coordinate with other parents or carpool when necessary to facilitate attendance.

    -The band staff will not and does not provide rides, Ubers, etc., unless in a serious emergency. 

    4. **Financial Commitment**:

    -Pay the Annual Band Program Fee in full for the year of $400.00 per student per year. 

    This fee pays for: Buses to Football Game (1), Homecoming T-shirt (1), the Majority of the Hotel & Bus to New Orleans per child, Program Fees & Equipment. 

    A minimum payment of $50 per month is due by the 15th of each month, except for August and February. 1st Payment is required before the student can perform for the first time.

    No August payment in order to give priority to the order band warm-up and t-shirts.

    No February payment in order to give priority to paying the remainder of the trip to Mardi Gras. 

    Once you complete this application, you are contractually bound to this payment, and the debt will become a part of the student's school account. Failure to pay will result in holds on report card, graduation, and more. 


    - Budget for and fulfill financial obligations related to the band program, including personal instrument rental (optional, we do provide instruments for use), uniforms, and fees for trips or competitions.


    - Participate in fundraising activities to support the band’s financial needs and reduce costs for all members.

    5. **Volunteering and Participation**:
    - Volunteer your time and skills for band events, such as chaperoning trips, assisting with uniform fittings, or helping with fundraising activities.
    - Offer to help with setup and breakdown during performances and events and work/cooking for the concession stand to raise funds.

    6. **Communication**:
    - Maintain open communication with band directors, staff, and other parents to stay updated on schedules, requirements, and any changes.
    - Inform the band director of any issues that may affect your child’s participation or performance.

    7. **Encouraging Balanced Schedules**:
    - Help your child balance their academic, extracurricular, and personal responsibilities, ensuring they manage their time effectively.
    - Encourage a healthy lifestyle, including adequate rest and nutrition, to support their physical and mental well-being.

    8. **Instilling Discipline and Accountability**:
    - Teach your child the importance of punctuality, preparation, and respect for their peers and instructors.
    - Hold your child accountable for their responsibilities within the band, such as maintaining their instrument and music materials.

    9. **Positive Role Modeling**:
    - Demonstrate a positive attitude towards the band program and its value, showing enthusiasm and appreciation for the arts.
    - Handle conflicts or concerns constructively, setting an example of good communication and problem-solving.

    10. **Long-Term Commitment**:
    - Understand that being part of a high school band is a long-term commitment that requires consistent involvement throughout the school year.
    - Encourage your child to persevere through challenges and celebrate their progress and achievements all the way to the end, our Annual Awards Program.

    By fulfilling these responsibilities and commitments, parents play a crucial role in the success of the high school band program and the personal growth of their children.
