  • Scholarship Application

    The Round Up scholarship is designed to bridge the gap often presented between a student’s financial aid package and other educational expenses.

     

    Due Date: Friday July 19, 2024

     

    Eligibility

    The Round Up scholarship is available to students whose primary residence or community/technical college, or university is located within the GoodwillSR 50 county territory in west Georgia and east Alabama.

    Application Tips

    Before proceeding to the online application segment, please have readily available to upload the following requirements:

    Essay

    An original personal essay explaining why you are a viable candidate for the Round Up scholarship. The essay must be on Microsoft Word document, 300 – 500 words, in Arial or Times New, 12pt font and double spaced.

    Since this is your opportunity to tell us your story, please incorporate the following in your personal essay:

    • Any personal and/or financial obstacles you have overcome to acquire an education.
    • Your purpose of pursuing a higher education.
    • The degree or certificate program you are pursuing and why?
    • Your career goals.
    • Please explain how this scholarship will assist you in achieving your personal, academic, and professional goals.

    Proof of Enrollment (POE)

    Proof of enrollment MUST be in the form of a class schedule/itinerary or a certified letter from the Registrar’s Office showing applicant is registered for the Summer or Fall (2024) semester.

    No Third-Party POE i.e. the National Student Clearinghouse!

    Automatic Disqualifications:

    • A.I. Generated Essay
    • Illegible Attachments
    • Incomplete/ Incorrect Completed Applications
    • Third-Party POE i.e. the National Student Clearinghouse

    In addition, I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein my likeness appears.

    I hereby acknowledge that Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Inc. may grant the same permissions as outlined in this Consent and Release Form to Goodwill Industries International, Inc. (“GII”) under the same terms and conditions.

    This consent and release form shall remain in effect for a period of five years, unless revoked. I understand that I may revoke this consent by submitting a written request to Communication Services, Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, 2601 Cross Country Drive, Building A, Columbus, GA 31906. I understand that, if I revoke this consent, my revocation will not have any effect on actions already taken by Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers and/or Goodwill Industries International, Inc. in reliance on my consent.

    By typing or electronically signing my name below, I certify that I have read and understand this consent and release form. I have been allowed to have my questions answered, and I have been informed that Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Inc. must give me a copy of this document once it is signed.
