Volunteer Call out

Blowfish Glass is excited to announce a unique programme celebrating the International Festival of Glass (IFOG) at our Gallery and Glassblowing Studio at The Redhouse Glass Cone. This four-day event will take place from August 23rd to 26th, 2024.

Blowfish is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to make this event a resounding success. With your help, we're determined to make this a spectacular celebration of glass. Volunteering is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a memorable event and develop experience across various areas.

We need volunteer slots for a variety of tasks, including:

• 12 x Gallery assistance (Invigilating, signposting to coordinators)
• 6 x Hotshop assistance (Each demo is 1 hour 30 mins with a 15 min break in between).
• 8 x General event assistance (meeting and greeting, managing refreshments, stewarding, checking ticket reservations)
• 16 x Functional Pop-up Shop (processing card payments, stock control, packaging sales)

The majority are half-day time slots.

- Friday - 9.30 AM - 6:15 PM
- Saturday - 9.30 AM - 6:15 PM
- Sunday - 10 AM - 4.30 PM
- Monday - 10:30 AM - 4.30 PM

Friday, August 23rd:

• Opening of the Fifteen x Fifteen Exhibition (10:00 AM - 6:15 PM, with a private view from 6:15 PM to 7:00 PM)
• Glassblowing demonstrations throughout the day (10:00 AM - 6:15 PM)
• Launch of the new Blowfish Glass Functional Range Pop-Up (10:00 AM - 6:15 PM)

Saturday, August 24th:

• Explore the Fifteen x Fifteen Exhibition (10:00 AM - 6:15 PM)
• Browse the Blowfish Functional Range Pop-Up (10:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Witness the art of glassblowing in action with demonstrations (10:00 AM - 6:15 PM)
• Attend insightful panel discussions and talks by renowned glass artists (11:00 AM - 4:30 PM, speakers to be confirmed)

Sunday, August 25th:

• Have a go at glassblowing yourself in the "Blow Your Own Glass" experience (10:30 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Immerse yourself in the Fifteen x Fifteen Exhibition (10:30 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Visit the Blowfish Functional Range Pop-Up (10:30 AM - 4:30 PM)

Monday, August 26th:

• Last chance to explore the Blowfish Functional Range Pop-Up (10:30 AM - 4:30 PM)
