NHC Equitable Access Grants will reimburse travel, lodging, and registration expenses (up to $1,920) relating to the grant recipient's attendance of the National Humanities Conference. This grant is intended for U.S.-based humanities students, professionals, and scholars from a range of organizations such as state and jurisdictional humanities councils, community colleges, four-year colleges, universities, museums, community organizations, and libraries; grants are also available to those who are not affiliated with a particular organization.
Applications are particularly encouraged from individuals from marginalized populations and communities previously underrepresented at the National Humanities Conference and those who do not have institutional support to take advantage of professional development opportunities. Preference will be given to applicants who can articulate the barriers to access that they have faced in their humanities education and/or work and explain how participation in this conference will benefit their professional development.
