  • We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable individual to lead the guns, archery, and fishing department in our Boise store as the Hunting & Fishing Department Manager. The ideal candidate is seasoned and passionate about all things hunting and fishing. The Department Manager will be responsible for leading their team to meet sales goals, uphold company standards, and provide exceptional customer service.     Key Responsibilities

    • Motivate and drive staff to meet sales goals and increase store profit
    • Effectively schedule staff to meet business needs while controlling payroll costs
    • Maintain and build strong customer relations
    • Identify customers' needs and make appropriate product recommendations
      Educate customers about proper equipment maintenance and use
    • Maintain awareness and knowledge of trends and emerging technologies relating to the industry
    • Up-keep visual presentation standards and department maintenance (e.g., in-store signage, merchandise recovery, restocking)
    • Set and uphold company standards by way of example and coaching

    Qualifications

    • +2 years of managerial experience
    • +2 years working in the Hunting & Fishing department
    • Extensive experience and knowledge about guns (e.g., makes and models of firearms and scopes, understanding the concepts and practices fo hunting and related activities)
    • Fly fishing experience preferred
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Organized and proactive work ethic
    • Comfortable approaching and talking to customers
    • Problem-solving and logical decision-making mentality
    • Able to stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, engage in repetitive motions, push, pull, and carry items for a short distance
    • Able to lift +20 lbs

    Full-Time, 40 hours per week

    • $23 to $28 per hour, depending on experience
