Humanist Celebrant Renewal Application
Thank you for your continued commitment to humanism and for your service as a Humanist Celebrant.

Your work brings meaning, connection, and humanist values to the important moments in people’s lives. This renewal process allows The Humanist Society to reaffirm your endorsement, recognize your contributions, and ensure you have the ongoing support and credentials you need to continue serving your community.

This application is for endorsed Humanist Celebrants who have completed their initial 2-year preliminary endorsement and are seeking renewal for a full 5-year period.

About the Process:

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and typically take 2-4 weeks to complete. To ensure timely processing, please:

Submit all required information
Ensure your annual professional fees are up to date.
Maintain an active American Humanist Association (AHA) membership Here

All fees must be current before your application for renewal will be considered. To pay by check, make checks payable to “The Humanist Society” and mail it to:

Process Overview:

1. Staff review your application, references, and fees

2. A phone interview will be scheduled

3. Your application and interview summary are reviewed by The Humanist Society Board of Directors

4. You’ll be notified of the Board’s decision and next steps via email.

The final decision on endorsement is made at the discretion of The Humanist Society Board of Directors, and endorsement may be denied for any reason.
Endorsement Details:

Renewable every 5 years

Celebrants must perform at least 1 ceremony per year, with a minimum 5 ceremonies before 5-year renewal
