Turkey Day is Fast Approaching! Thanks for taking a moment to pre-order your holiday turkey. Here are a few important things to note: Turkeys are $9 per pound. This year we are only raising 100 turkeys. A $50 deposit is required for each turkey. Deposits are non-refundable unless Sunrising Farms is unable to fulfill the preorder. Due to recent changes in poultry processing laws in North Carolina, small farmers like us are limited in where we can process poultry unless we do it ourselves. As a result, turkeys will be frozen on the day of processing and ready for pickup or delivery in mid-November. Sunrising Farms currently uses Williamsburg Packing Co. for poultry processing, located in South Carolina. We offer both pickup and delivery options. Turkeys are getting processed Nov. 4th. Turkeys will be ready 1-3 weeks from that date. Once turkeys are ready you'll be notified, via email, and we'll coordinate pick up/delivery time slots. Lastly, 10% of all turkeys raised will be gifted to people who value farm raised meat. Please consider donating to help cover the cost. A medium size turkey would cost about $120 and easily feed a family of four. We appreciate your support, flexibility, and understanding as we navigate these changes.
