Guide on How to Measure
Note: If you already know the measurements, this stage is not necessary.
Tools Needed:
Measuring tape
A notepad and pen to record measurements
Steps:
Preparation:
Ensure your child is wearing lightweight, fitted clothing for accurate measurements.
Have your child stand facing away from you.
Positioning:
Make sure your child is standing up straight, with feet flat on the ground and arms relaxed at their sides.
For Girls:
Measurement Point: Measure from the top of the right shoulder to the foot's heel.
Procedure:
Place the measuring tape at the top of your child's right shoulder.
Run the tape down the back, straight and taut, until you reach the heel of the foot.
Ensure the measuring tape is not sagging or twisted.
Record the measurement in inches or centimetres.
Procedure:
Place the measuring tape at the top of your child's right shoulder.
Run the tape down the body, straight and taut, until you reach the ankle.
Ensure the measuring tape is not sagging or twisted.
Record the measurement in inches or centimetres.
Tips:
Double-check the measurement by repeating the process to ensure accuracy.
Keep the measuring tape parallel to your child’s body to avoid any angular errors.
Have another person help hold the measuring tape in place for the best results.
Note: If you already know the measurements, this stage is unnecessary.
By following these steps, you can accurately measure your child to determine the correct size for uniforms.
An Important Note on Sizes
If after you have measured your child and the exact size is not available, choose the next size up. E.g. if your child is 35 inches choose size 36.
